@alexanderswift@DanielBleakley@jolauder Honestly this is becoming a wall of text, but I can go on & on. My utilities integrates with my Tesla charger (not all chargers are supported), and handles off-peak charging for me. They give me $10 a month to do this. The car knows my calendar, and plots nav automatically.
@alexanderswift@DanielBleakley@jolauder And really, just the QOL features it has. No service required, integration with Tesla Solar, Powerwall and Supercharging network. 360Β° dashcam, with the ability to view at any time on the app. As well as the ability to summon the car (which I do sometimes at work).
@FairiMairi@1NewsNZ The higher tobacco taxes were designed to get people off cigarettes. And so was the ban. Removing the ban, reducing the taxes, increases revenue for both the government and tobacco companies, because more people would likely buy them. All these things can exist at the same time.
@MossmanSimon@0_loki_0@NapierinFrame The OECD publishes this, but yeah, it's the reason why other developed countries have better infrastructure than NZ does. Besides the whole issue of small population spread out over the size of the UK+
@SayingItOK@OfMalakai@kiwigolfrentals The process of, a multi-billion dollar pseudo-government doing what it can freely do, protected by a Permanent Security Council vote and 11 fleet carriers? What authority, grounds, or even power do you have to tell them what to do? NZ can't even respect judicial precedent.
@OfMalakai@kiwigolfrentals@SayingItOK Not exactly an official document, but when a company that has higher revenue than the NZ government recognises it, it means something.
@Hayden461805541 @nzlabour It would be, since there's not a single one that's ever made a profit. But if you think it's a good idea. Grab some investors and make some money.
@Bluebird262626@KeepingMum It's almost as if trying to combat inflation and cutting all spending has consequences for economic growth. Right now, we're dependent on overseas markets to stimulate the economy.
@joey_nz@tatsie1973@nzlabour Old wind turbines can be recycled.

Etc, etc.
Or you can just buy the newer recyclable blades in the first place. But even then, it's still easier just to dump them, which is what most will do without regulation.
@EastCoastNan@tatsie1973@nzlabour At least, China has far, far more renewables capacity under construction and planned than nuclear. And you want to be taking a leaf from the Russians? We might as well buy their military equipment as well.
