@SWGoldman@jguipre I too found The Leopard somewhat off in its production, and it's rarely on best-movie lists. The great movie model is sometimes low-rent novels (e.g., @jpodhoretz's Godfather) and often middlebrow books (e.g., Tarkington's Magnificent Ambersons).
