During a time in which consumers question the safety of their data, the US and Israel have launched a joint investment project called BIRD (Binational Industrial Research and Development foundation) with a goal of increasing the security of its technological infrastructures.
BIRD will focus on 4 innovative technologies: more secure architecture for core operational processes, real time risk assessment solutions for airports and seaports, increased number of center pilots for businesses, and data fusion and analytics.
As Crypto currencies continue to gain popularity in Israel, the Bank of Israel has teamed up with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to begin testing a new CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency).
They plan on using a two tier central bank currency in which the Central Bank issues the coin and distributes it to financial intermediaries, allowing its customers to experience less risk, more liquidity, lower cost, and wider access.
