🇺🇸 HUUUUGE NEWS: THE U.S. CFTC CONFIRMED IT IS PLANNING TO RELEASE CRYPTO RULES, EVEN THOUGH THE SENATE DIDN‘T GET THE CLARITY ACT THROUGH! 🙌🏼
PLAN B IS LOADING… ⏳
🚨UPDATE: Sen. Thom Tillis says he will SAY YES to advance the CLARITY Act as he is “very pleased” with what the White House delivered on ethics, per Punchbowl News’ Pedersen.
He urged lawmakers to allow amendments, then oppose final passage if their concerns remain unresolved.
“If it doesn't address their concerns, once it's amendable, then don't vote for it on the back end.”
NEW: 🏛️ 🇺🇸 Rep. French Hill on CLARITY: "I think there were 3 big issues the Senate's grappled with", ethics, illicit finance and bank deposit concerns over stablecoins.
"The bill addresses all 3 of those points, let's see if they can get a good vote today at 3:00," adds Hill.
Chairman @SenatorTimScott believes America can protect community banks, protect consumers, and lead the future of finance.
The Clarity Act sets clear limits on stablecoin yield and trusts @SecScottBessent to act if stablecoin activity threatens community bank deposits.
Democrats secured more than 100 changes to the Clarity Act, including amendments to self-custody rights, a best execution requirement, and a new Office of the Retail Commodity Advocate written into the Clarity Act. If this bill fails, those protections vanish with it, and Democrats will have no one to blame for that outcome but themselves.
If the Democrats and Banks want to play games and don't get the Clarity Act passed then the status quo remains. There will be no crypto ethics in place and no updates to stablecoin yield management. The SEC and CFTC will provide guidance via rulemaking and adoption will continue.
Both of the Dems and Banks have a lot to lose here. Crypto will pump regardless.
🇺🇸 NEW: Senator Gillibrand is privately pushing fellow Democrats to vote yes on advancing the CLARITY Act Tuesday, putting her at odds with progressives in her party, per Politico.
I’ve said many times that the CLARITY Act is essential to ensuring America wins the global race for new technology. That’s the reason Congress passed the GENIUS Act: to ensure that stablecoin infrastructure, a revolutionary financial technology, will be built in America.
Ensuring that America’s community bank sector continues to thrive has been a constant focus of mine since day one. And the administration’s dual focus on enabling new digital technology to flourish and appropriately tailoring community bank regulation is key to both sectors driving U.S. economic growth together over the next several decades.
The final draft of the CLARITY Act furthers this mission. It gives the Secretary of the Treasury additional authority to act if the facts around deposit flight change to the detriment of community banks. If stablecoins cause harm to community banks, I will not hesitate to use these tools to ensure they remain fully protected. Community banks are essential to U.S. economic performance and Main Street growth. Economic security is national security, and community banks play a major role in this principle.

Every Senator needs to know it.
