What a quiet deadline day for Liverpool. The only talking point is that there are no talking points.

I don’t think this window is as bad as people are making out honestly. Mind you Barcola does alot of heavy lifting.

If #LFC genuinely wanted Yankuba Minteh, they would meet Brighton’s valuation.

This club is one of the biggest in world football, with record revenues, a global commercial operation, and new investment on the books. Negotiating hard is sensible. Walking away from a priority signing because the fee is uncomfortable is something else.

Andoni Iraola has been clear that the squad is thin in wide areas. After a summer of departures, the owners now have a choice: back the new head coach with the players he needs, or hand him an incomplete squad and hope results follow.

Ambition is not measured by statements. It is measured by whether the club is prepared to pay the market rate for the footballer it has identified.
Courage in the final hours of the window would look like finishing the job.

Anything less looks like hoping for the best.

I keep seeing “Sarr is a replacement for Gakpo” but he’s not. Barcola is (I’d say upgrade actually)

Sarr (or someone else) is the replacement for the non-existent second-right winger we don’t have (that’s if we class Munoz as a right-winger).

The process hasn’t been good at all and this should have all been sorted by now, but we should all be logical about it.
