Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of the everyday routine, the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration - whereby those important events of the past, usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, are celebrated with a nice holiday - I thought we could mark this November the fifth, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat.
There are, of course, those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now orders are being shouted into telephones and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there?
Cruelty and injustice...intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance, coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those who are more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable. But again, truth be told...if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War. Terror. Disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you and in your panic, you turned to the now Starmer and his disciples. He promised you order. He promised you peace. And all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent.
I’m not angry at all. If it had involved match fixing or bribing officials, then I’d be angry. I just don’t understand how this will be resolved. You’re top of the Premier League and could easily go on to win PL this season. Honestly, can you imagine it? Yesterday, you beat us 3–0, but today all anyone is talking about is the decisions and how ridiculous it is that this is still going on. We’ve forgotten about the football, and the conversation has become all about the rights and wrongs of this case.
Any future unification process must be entirely peaceful. That makes it vital to convince as many unionists as possible that they have a future and a meaningful role in a new Ireland. The optics over the past few weeks have been terrible for everyone. I have no issue with Sinn Féin standing alongside people on the road, to be honest, but they also stood in the company of dissident republicans, who have murdered police officers. Sooner or later I believe there will be an untied Ireland, but the past few weeks has not helped anyone in anyway.
@KayBurley Your hypocrisy is truly vomit inducing. When poor April Jones was murdered, a particular journalist behaved like a complete ghoul throughout the tragedy. There was no concern for her family, only a fixation on landing the big breaking news headline. Repulsive behaviour.
I don’t think that march should ever have been applied for, let alone approved. But this kind of absurd virtue signalling really gets under my skin. We have celebrities who have no idea what it was like to live through what we did( apart from a few), yet somehow believe their fame entitles them to lecture the rest of us. They’re just a bunch of very rich, left-wing cunts, that haven’t a clue how normal people live. Their arrogance is outrageous “Oh look at me, I got my ginger threadbare snatch out in a movie, so you have to listen to my opinion”
@KateNicholl You’re all alike, overpaid, self-important, pontificating prats. Just look at yesterday, the same old sectarian politicians, talking the same old shite. The Alliance Party flouncing out like Naomi dropped one of her egg and onion farts. Complete circus.
