Former Reform UK chairman David Bull says that he doesn't think there will be "another by-election in Clacton" even if Nigel Farage is suspended.
"If he's suspended for more than ten days, then there would be a recall petition. But then 10 per cent of the electorate of Clacton would have to vote in favour. And I just get the sense, having been on the doorsteps, they just won't."

Two weeks ago today, I admitted that politics has not been working for you and that we all need to raise our game.
I meant it.
So here's just some of what we've announced in the first fortnight:
✅ New national drive to end rough sleeping
✅ Tax cut on energy bills
✅ £2 cap on bus fares in England
✅ Record numbers of NCA officers deployed to tackle gangs behind small boat crossings
✅ 20% cut in business rates for thousands of pubs, clubs, and music venues
✅ Number 10 North, driving power out of Westminster and into every postcode across the country
✅ 14-year-olds will have early access to technical education, skills training and connections with employers
✅ Plan to fix our broken social care system
✅ Investment in our nuclear deterrent, supporting 22,000 apprenticeships
✅ Local mayors will get a share of income tax
This is just the start. I know a fortnight does not fix a country.
But I said I would do things differently, and I am.
BREAKING: UEFA countries unanimously in support of boycotting World Cup in protest at FIFA's plan to sell stakes in tournament to private investors, say sources.

🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has called for employers to stop conducting interviews on Zoom or Teams and using AI to filter through CVs
"How does a young person shine in that situation? How do you get over some of your personality, your passion?"
Let me say this very directly.
Football does not belong to investors. It belongs to the people who fill the stands and who stand on the touchline week in, week out, rain or shine.
The World Cup is not a product. It is the greatest competition in world sport, and it was never anyone's to sell. Dress the deal up however you like. Once you have sold a piece of it, you have sold out.
Football belongs to the fans. It always has, and it always will.
You will see this as a determined drive that you have not seen before from a British government.
Buying British not “if possible”, but by design. So every procurement pound supports British jobs, British apprenticeships and British skills. https://t.co/9orb94QfLc
Keeping the public safe will always be my top priority.
I have instructed my team to put a pause on the sentencing changes that were due to start in September.
No prisoners will be let out under this policy until we have conducted an urgent review and done everything we can to minimise risk to the public.
Where changes are needed, I will not hesitate to make them.
Pubs, clubs and live music venues are at the heart of communities across the UK - which is why we will back them all the way.
We’re determined to bring hope back, give businesses the support they need and generate growth in every postcode.

This should be front page news>>
@OpenAI’s next‑gen model executed a complex cyber attack ***independently***.
Surely the time for advice and codes of practice for tech companies has expired.
We urgently need global transparency, oversight and regulation of AI.
Sorry but this is bullshit. I’ve heard the full tape vs the edit and the line is completely taken out of context in the edit.
We absolutely should not condone this type of wilful misinterpretation. Jo is one of Labour’s biggest advocates for stopping the scourge of small boat crossings
We’re capping bus fares at £2 for everyone throughout 2027, slashing fares by a third for millions of people.
This comes after a cut to VAT on electricity bills.
This is how we start to build a new economy, create new hope, and advance working people across the country.
It is the greatest privilege to be appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer by the Prime Minister.
Together, we will build a new economy, build new hope and advance the working people of this country.
Time to get on with the job.
I will accept Nigel Farage’s request to be appointed Steward and Bailiff of the Manor of Northstead.
It is a farce and a desperate distraction, and the people of Clacton deserve better.
But if he wants to spend the summer arguing with a bin, I won't stop him.
