Today's #ClimateActionBill commits Ireland to net-zero emissions by 2050, and sets a target of at least a 51 per cent reduction by the end of this decade.
It's a great day for Ireland and for @greenparty_ie in government #TimetoAct
Happy International Women's Day from the gals (past and present) of the Gun'ko Group!
Shoutout to all the amazing women working in research across the world👩🔬👩🔬

Áine is a 2nd year PhD student. She studied Nanoscience in TCD, joining the group for her final year research project on magnetic-plasmonic nanomaterials. Her research currently focuses on the bottom-up synthesis of 2D materials, with a particular interest in chiral materials.
Natalia is a final year PhD student. She is from Madrid, where she studied Biochemistry at UCM. She came to TCD as an Erasmus, doing her final year project in the Gun’ko group. She is currently working on the development of new nanofiltration membranes using 2D nanomaterials.
Xue Bai is a final year PhD student. She is from China, where she studied Material Engineering in BUCT. She is currently working on the building of luminescent solar concentrators using Cu-based nanocrystals.

Aoife is a first year PhD student. Her research is focused on developing 2D Cu-based quantum dots. She studied Chemistry at TCD and is currently working remotely from home. She has research experience in hybrid organic-inorganic nanomaterials, from her work with the Dunne group.
Munirah is a first year PhD student. She is originally from North Africa, born and raised in Dublin. She studied MedChem in TCD and did her research project in the Gun'ko Group. She is currently working on synthesising various carbonates for a wide range of applications.
Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science!
Our research group has always embraced gender diversity and strong female representation.
To celebrate the day, we're going to introduce you to all of the female researchers in our group 😊
