encountered a fraudulent incident today ftom the phone number 9012996807. The individual attempted to persuade me to download an app while posing as a representative of ICICI Bank. Please check and the number in question is currently operational.

Scam alert 🚨🚨🚨
Today I got a call (in Hindi) saying "I am from HDFC Bank. Your KYC has expired, and your account has been blocked"

Me: "When did this happen?"
Him: "Last week, we sent an SMS. You didn't renew"
Me: "Bro you call me 2 times a week for a credit card I don't want but you can't call me for KYC renewal?"

At this point he got very angry and gave me gyaan on KYC renewal. At this point I got suspicious. Bank guys don't get angry. I said I will talk to my Relationship Manager and not him. He cut the call

I ran his number on Truecaller and it showed "Bank Scam". And internet search told me that if I had continued on the call he would have sent me link to renew KYC which is a phishing link

Moral of the story: KYC renewal is the latest scam for stealing your money from the bank. Please be careful. Please share
