@giveashitnature I think it's because in school science, we are taught that there are wind pollinated plants, and insect pollinated plants, and so, it never occurs to us that insects might also visit wind pollinated plants because they don't have nectar, or large petals to advertise themselves
@she_obey@DebsValidation The fact that book magazines & websites say it’s good tells me nothing about whether I will want to read it. Hell, I’ve read & enjoyed books I saw reviewed as bad, cos the review gave me enough info to know I would like that book & that person shouldn't be allowed to review SFF
@she_obey@DebsValidation I get so sick of tapping on a book for more details & I get paragraphs of "quercus says standout book of the year!" And more stuff like that. I don't care what quercus (which I’m sure I’m misspelling) said, I want to know a plot outline, a story precis, a blurb of what it's about
Look what’s been built in Cardiff for swifts. My niece sent me these photos and said the structure was alive with birds. Heartening to see. It’s shaped like a swift in flight I think. Other towns have created similar swift nest sites including Exeter. Thank you for caring.
