@RoyalMail In February I sent a birthday card to my friend (from the UK to the Channel Islands). They received it today. I would be grateful if you can let me know how many months in advance I need to send letters to the CI so I can be prepared for other birthdays.
Cheers.
@Govgg
I have emailed the social security department on the 21st Jan and 4th Feb 2025 and today. Still no response to my question. Also having left the island in 2022 it was surprising that my partner received a tax assessment today for 2025 ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ yes all forms were completed ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
Well Rome was wonderful, hotel was grand, food glorious and weather gorgeousโค๏ธ the historical sites were amazing, the biggest surprise was the colosseum - it is not as huge as the films portray. As the Pope was/is ill it was way busier than usual but still fabโค๏ธ
Spring is on the wayโฆโฆ..
Lambs in the fields
Icy cold sunny days
Bird feeders busy
Daylight hours getting longer
Daffodils and snowdrops
And the constant chatter of birds

Please retweet to help Harold find a forever home #WALES North #UK
Harold was rescued from euthanasia in a British council pound.
Harold is a dinky little terrier whoโs only around 5 years old. Sadly, he was left on a site in a caravan when the people moved out. When he was picked up he was covered in fleas and ticks. It became obvious he has one eye missing and awfully docked tail!๐
Despite all this is he a little gentleman who hasnโt put a paw out of place since arriving. He did his seven days in the pound and came very close to being put to sleep as no one came for him. Thankfully we had a foster home free for him!
Harold has been a true gentlemen since arriving in our care. He has happily done everything we have asked of him. He is housetrained and sleeps through the night too.
This dinky lad is great with people and other dogs. Plus heโs good on lead too, he isnโt worried by traffic and travels well in the car!
At the vets he was a super star and allowed a full examination to take place, he is more than happy to be handled. He has passed a health check, started his vaccinations, been flead and wormed.
Heโs booked in to be microchipped, neutered and at the same time they going to clean out the eye socket where his eye is missing and get that better for him. Thankfully not a big job and he copes perfectly well with one eye.
Harold is a quiet lad who loves the garden and all the sniffs. He is going to be someoneโs best friend.
We feel he could live with or without another neutered dog, he could live with dog savvy children or in active retired home environment. As long as he is loved and gets his walks, heโs a happy lad.
Please share this sweet soul so he can find his happy forever after and finally be treated as a family member!

Updated NICE menopause guidelines published today.
While itโs welcome to see HRT as the preferred treatment for the menopause, this is a disappointing update overall. The focus remains primarily on vasomotor symptoms โ hot flushes and night sweats โ which are, for many women, not the main symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. Most women experience brain symptoms โ brain fog, low mood, anxiety, poor concentration, sleep disturbances, memory problems and fatigue โ and these are things we know are unlikely to be alleviated in the long term by CBT, as suggested.
The guidelines also do not differentiate between older, synthetic HRT and the natural (body identical) hormones now more commonly prescribed โ while the word โriskโ is mentioned three times as often than the word โbenefitโ, these newer forms offer more benefit than risks.
The true risk comes in NOT taking HRT at all, with good quality evidence showing that low hormones during menopause increases the risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, dementia, neurodegenerative diseases, clincial depression, autoimmune diseases and an earlier death. These diseases reduce in women taking hormones and life expectancy increases.
Women deserve to be fully informed and involved at every step of their healthcare consultation to make an informed decision on the right treatment or combination of treatments for them. While we have seen a rise in recent years in access to evidence-based treatments like HRT, a postcode lottery still exists, particularly for those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Too many women are still struggling to receive HRT, and these guidelines will be confusing for both healthcare professionals and women.
Perimenopause and menopause is sorely under-researched and under-funded, and this must change. In the meantime, women deserve to have a choice, and those who want to take HRT should be able to have it prescribed. That HRT is now the frontline treatment is refreshing, but future documents and consultations must go further to ensure women get the treatment they deserve.

Well last day of a fantastic holiday. Had the best time doing a fitness camp. 30 minute run each day followed by an hour on weights and then 2 cardio sessions. Afternoons were spent flopped on a sun lounger beside the pool or on the beach. It really is a fantastic way to 1/
