I just wanted to thank Dr Wish @WishingWealth and @RichardMoglen
About 4 years ago I came across one of Richard's videos talking about how Dr. Wish teach's the students and the University Of Maryland trading stratagies. Those first videos drove a spart in me to learn trading!
Have shares these stats @dennisc230 gave me years ago....maybe a little outdated without exact parameters but have always found the top 10% zone to be helpful....Bracco good info below
Yes.
The moment you think you’re good, smart, perhaps get a little bit cocky or complacent, just know the market is like a lion hiding behind the bush ready to pounce on you and punish that.
I can’t tell you how many times it’s happened to me.
The good part is, once you experience this a few times and actually learn from it, you start to understand that your focus pivot to protecting gains and doing less during these “euphoric” moments.
My antennas are up the most precisely during these periods.
It only "ends badly" if you do not have a solid risk and position management plan.
Don't
❌oversize positions
❌trade without stop plan
❌add to losers
❌trade without a predefined exit plan
❌revenge trade after a loss

Just sitting on hands........
Not a gap up chaser. And in my opinion, its not what you want to be doing.
But, you should do what you know how to do.

Tricky market. Next headline could send the indexes either way. Today's gap up will be interesting to watch.
Managing risk on a new trade is job 1 thru 10.
Meat grinder in full swing.
1. Red pre market
2. Strong open, shorts perhaps cover
3. Tear it down after a 15 minute pop
Excruciating for the undisciplined.
Apologies for the spam posting, but I was once that trader trying to buy every pop, short the drops, chopping myself to pieces, burning mental capital.
Trying to help anyone experiencing this now, because I know many are.
Some goals for this year:
1) Remember the market gives 3-4 great windows for making money a year. It's always been this way. Livermore talked about it. I need to make sure I hit those.
2.) Don't trade just to trade. Too often, I burned mental capital trying to have a position at all times. I can't tell you how many days I've woke up at 3-4am to check the market. I don't need that.
3.) Take what the market is giving. Don't try to squeeze doubles into triples.
4.) Earn the right to trade big and swing for the fences. We've just had 2 great years in a row on the bullish side but chop into q4, approach the market with realistic expectations, this year will be tough until it proves otherwise.
5.) rest up but don't check out. Be ready for new trends, themes, but don't waste effort chasing the ghosts of Christmas past.
6.) Diversify. Spent q4 using market profits on other deals, expand on that. continue turning market gains into real assets. Take money out of the market.
CBSA officers encountered a traveller from the North Pole carrying multiple bags of concealed goods and travelling alongside nine caribou.
He was cleared for entry after submitting his declaration : “Merry Christmas, Canada!”
Nobody really talks about this…
Trading is lonely. Brutally lonely.
You’re sitting there every day, making decisions that can change your entire life… and there’s literally no one around who actually understands what that feels like.
Your friends don’t get it.
You can’t talk about your wins you’ll look like you’re showing off.
You can’t talk about your losses you’ll hear the classic “told you na… trading is risky.”
So you just sit with everything… alone.
You hit a big win and there’s no one to call.
You take a painful loss and you can’t explain it to anyone.
You’re awake at 2 AM, questioning every decision, every trade, every thought and Google can’t help because what you actually need is someone who has been through this same shit.
And the funniest part?
Open Twitter and everyone looks like they’ve mastered the game.
Charts. Wins. Confidence.
Like they’ve solved trading.
And you sit there thinking “Am I the only one struggling?”
You’re not.
If you’re going through this phase… if you feel stuck, confused, scared, or just alone - my DMs are open.
