Class debates have certainly fired up some exciting discussions and use of vocab today. Excellent to witness everyone’s opinions enthusiastically given, heard and patiently listened to.
Ancient Greek gods and goddesses went down a treat in year 5. We’ve explored symbolism, myths and identities. Here’s a few research examples of our work ⚡️
The use of exciting vocabulary is massive at Fir Tree so it was brilliant to take year 5 to @wallingford4140 last week to learn some useful new French 🇫🇷
Sycamore have been having a fab time researching, retrieving and learning about the Ancient Greeks as demonstrated in their ‘Growing up in Greece’ research pages.
Check out our amazing crown formation in honour of King Charles III’s coronation tomorrow 👑 it was taken by @RAFBenson during their fly-over … thank you! We think it looks great! #KingCharlesCoronation
Sycamore have been working on their observational and mark-making skills in art. Here are some 3D sketches of El Castillo which is a famous Ancient Mayan Temple 🗿
Fir Tree Year 5/6 girls are the winners of the South Oxfordshire trophy! 🏆 AMAZING performances - this afternoon we won all 5 games including a tense semi final that we only won in extra time! Well done girls, you were incredible 🦁
What a fantastic evening!
We were proud to provide a silent disco for the children at Fir Tree Junior School in Wallingford on behalf of the PTA.
Split over two sessions for different year groups, the children had already submitted their playlists. @FirTreeJuniors
It was also SO exciting to follow in the footsteps of a children's television legend as @FirTreeJuniors school was opened by the incredible Johnny Morris more than fifty years ago back in 1969!
I had an absolutely fantastic day at @FirTreeJuniors school today for #WorldBookDay. Huge thanks to Mr Wilcox and all the staff there and a MASSIVE thank you to all the children at @FirTreeJuniors who love to escape into a good book. Keep reading and change the world!
We had the incredible @edgechristopher in for World Book Day 2023! He inspired us all to be even better readers and writers - his new book Escape Room sold out very quickly in our book sale after school - we can’t wait to get reading! 📚🤩
