@FireFoothills, @HighlandRescue, @GFR_co and EFR are responding to the #RainbowHillFire north of El Rancho on Rainbow Hill. For additional details follow Foothills Fire & Rescue on Twitter/X and Facebook.
EFR and JCSO are on scene of a vehicle crash on Highway 74 east of Kittredge. The vehicle crashed on the creek embankment mere inches before entering Bear Creek. The lone occupant was not injured. Traffic is limited to one lane.
FINAL Update: EFR responded to this incident in the 4000 Block of Timbervale Drive at 3:11 pm today (3/6). Inconsistent temperatures are weakening ice. Please stay off & stay safe.
Firefighters used a chainsaw to cut a chute through the ice and poles to move the elk into position for the rescue. The elk is cold; no humans were injured.
Ice is thick in some places, thin in others. We can learn from this elk’s experience: Stay Off the Ice. If you see someone fall in, call 911 like these neighbors did.
Earlier this evening (Feb. 17), our firefighters rescued an elk after it broke through ice on a pond near Timbervale Drive. Human witnesses did the right thing and called 911.
February is heart health month. There are simple ways we can improve our heart health like adding fruits & veggies to meals & snacks. Per the @American_Heart, fresh, frozen, canned, and dried fruits and veggies promote heart health! They add color to our plates and our lives!
Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. Feb. 3 is National Wear Red Day, the @American_Heart's reminder to prevent heart disease among women. Wear red, be active, and make an appt with your doctor to check your heart’s health. #WearRedDay
EFR is responding to a structure fire in the 400 Block of Silver Spruce Lane. Please avoid the area for your safety and the safety of emergency responders.
Local emergency responders, including personnel from EFR, attended a 4-hour Traffic Incident Management System class hosted by Clear Creek Fire Authority and taught by @CSP_News. Training together improves safety for responders and motorists. Slow Down & Move Over! It's the law.
Home fire sprinklers give occupants more time to evacuate and keep fires smaller for firefighters. They protect pets, reduce smoke, conserve water, reduce property damage, & decrease landfill impacts. https://t.co/VTjY5mPP01 @CRRWeek @COFirePrevControl @NFSAorg@HFSCorg
Show your love for fire hydrants by shoveling a 3-foot radius free of snow around hydrants on your property or in the neighborhood. 3 feet provides room for a firefighter to operate the hydrant safely. Share your before & after photos on our FB page! @CRRWeek#FireSafeColorado
You can save a life. As many of us witnessed on national tv recently, effective bystander CPR, defibrillation, and transport to a hospital as quickly as possible can help save a person’s life. Find CPR classes at https://t.co/HfTWK1zRik. @EMSTeam
