A few of @KeralaBlasters fans are like chameleons; they change colors in preseason and post-season. They will be on a mission to find faults in preseason, and when the season begins and the team performs, they will proclaim “Yellow is life.”

I would like to appreciate the bravery behind using the expression “Armchair Warriors.” There are certain shortcomings from @KeralaBlasters , but these few make a big deal out of it for their petty reach. It’s nice to see you come out and speak. Let’s have a great season ahead.

Dear fans,

Let me begin by acknowledging that one of my last tweets clearly didn’t age too well 😅 - we were close to signing a striker in that moment and maybe I got ahead of myself. But, seeing some of the continued outrage and unrest aimed at management and club, fueled largely by some armchair warriors that are dedicating themselves only to insult us basis half information and misguided rumors, warrants clarity. You might wonder why we were silent for so long. It is because no Club talks about operational activities like training facilities, title sponsors, kitting partners, etc. until there are concrete updates. Unfortunately, various information has been repeatedly twisted to cast a negative light on the Club. So, here is an attempt to give you some clarity.

A. Training Ground / Facilities

This has and fully is under control. We have maintained every pitch to the highest standards and in 7 years of ownership, never has the club faced issues with trainings grounds, except due to external issues. The plan was always to stay in Kolkata until the end of Aug, which was later extended, basis a discussion with the technical team, due to rains in Kochi + competitive friendlies in Kolkata. Rest assured, everything is under control

B. Kitting Partners

For those jumping to criticize our kitting partner, the decision to partner with Reyaur was taken because we felt they were most motivated and aligned to our thought of providing more affordable merchandise. Price points of merchandise from years past have been high, and not accessible to all. We are collectively trying to find a solution that can enable more fans to access club merchandise, even at the expense of making hardly/no money at all

C. Sponsors etc.

These are all on-going discussions with various partners and depend on multiple factors . Announcement decisions aren’t just ours to make. It's decided along with the brands.

D. Striker Signing

We’re first to admit that this signing maybe came in a little later than expected but, the intention to close out with signings before Durand cup was not a fake promise or empty words. There was every intention to sign as early as possible. Offers were given even as early as May before the coach was even signed. Unfortunately, many such options didn’t materialize. Those taking this is a willingly unfulfilled promise/intentional effort to lie are only trying to exploit a statement made with the right intentions.

E. ‘Being Business minded’

This has got to be the most ridiculous statement to make when there quite literally is no business to be made in Indian Football. NO CLUB IN THE LEAGUE MAKES MONEY SO THERE IS NO SCOPE TO BE BUSINESS-MINDED. Anyone trying to suggest otherwise that money from ticketing rev, sale of players, sponsorships, Kravin as money-making personal endeavors is wrong. The Club doesn’t even make a profit on the stadium revenue, contrary to what seems to be the common belief. The idea to launch brands like Kravin etc. is an attempt to grow the evenue model for the Club. But just because your revenue grows, doesn’t mean you’re being business minded.

F. Club Operations

Many of the same people outrightly accusing us of not winning for 10 years, don’t even know that we only came into the Club in 2016/17. We took over Football operations only in 2020/21. Since, we have made three consecutive playoffs, amongst numerous other areas of growth and improvement at the Club. I fully understand and feel just as frustrated we don’t have a trophy yet, but, we have our vision of how we want to achieve success and like I’ve always said, we will achieve it.

Certain accounts try to undermine us by trying to showcase incompetence when really, these people don’t even know the full history.

Finally, it is sad that the same people who write stories about football being beyond caste, race, religion etc. bring in the fact that we’re not from the state. It is true that we aren’t, but our efforts have always been honest. We have never sabotaged/stopped any attempts from other investors to come on board. Sadly, some of the names you keep mentioning walked away after hearing about the kind of investments required to run a football club + the losses that football clubs sustain. We will never come in the way if someone is coming forward.
However, in the meantime, I urge the same people, who seem to be endlessly tagging me in posts to get out of the state and wanting local investors, to think about what you were doing back when two years the Club had no ownership?

We share the same passion for the sport. That’s why we are here. So trust me, we are not here trying to take your passion for granted. Our ambition to win remains unwavered. Maybe some of you disagree with our strategies and expect something different in certain areas, which I understand fully. Thank you for putting these across along with an attempt to also understand some of our pain points. We truly appreciate this.

In light of everything, perhaps the biggest learning has been that more communication is paramount between all stakeholders. We have some updates coming soon to foster a more streamlined flow of information and communication between fans and the Club. We have never lost sight of our commitment to the club, its fans, and this state. We make mistakes but we’re honest enough to admit and work on them. We all want the same thing and we will achieve it soon.
