We built machines to save time.
Then built a culture where nobody has any.
As AI takes on more work, we need to decide where the saved hours belong.
I want more of mine being human. 💚
Google just ruined OpenAI's dev day lmao
Gemini 4 Pro leaks absolutely dominates both Anthropic and OpenAI
This means Fable 5.5 and GPT 6.1 has to price match Gemini 4 Pro now IPO DELAYED 🤣
I can't confirm any of this, but I'm at least hearing the rumors.
1) GPT-6-Sol will be another significant leap forward; its price-performance ratio compared to Astra will be surprisingly good. Most likely, it will be released on Tuesday.
2) Opus 5.5, in response to OpenAI's move, is also expected this week, today or tomorrow. A significant leap forward; OpenAI and Anthropic are currently neck and neck. Opus is a response to GPT-6-Sol.
What's new to me is that "Bel" is internally referred to as AGI. Considering the graph, which still shows how quickly OpenAI's models continue to improve, this isn't surprising (graph below).
You'll spend about 90,000 hours of your life at work.
A huge share of it on tasks a machine now finishes in seconds.
The hours behind you are gone.
The next 10,000 are still yours to claim.
You became a machine to survive your job.
The 60 hour weeks, the midnight Slack, the reports no one reads.
Give that work to the actual machines. Take your life back.
There is no way this guy knows what he talks about.
He is saying nothing new, his entire body language speaks heaps of uncertainty.
He does not even know how to express very simple terms.
Risks are real with AI, for sure, but this smells awkward.
Wake up.
I’m tired of watching smart people fall for this bullshit.
125 million people read one tweet this week — and decided the machines are taking over. My feet is full of cryptic TikToks, regurgitations of this headline, and everyone saying a version of “get ready for the end times.”
How did we as a culture become so quick to jump on a bandwagon of a topic we so little understand?
What happened to studying the data, facts, and diving in deep before we make a comment?
🤮
Our comments on my AI news channel are full of people who watched a 30-second reel and allowed their subconscious programming Hollywood has been telling us for years starting with Terminator to override their logic… and haven’t slept since.
Everybody’s acting like we’re in the audience of a movie.
Popcorn out.
Waiting to see what the machines do to us.
But here’s how I see it, and I run an actual company that works in AI every single day…
You’re not in the audience.
You’re holding the keyboard.
The plug that actually controls the machine you believe now based on a 20 year old’s hyped up breakdown on X is out to kill you.
That plug is in your hands.
…
Let me tell you how I know that. Because I’ve been on both sides of this machine.
In 2021, I sold the writing agency I’d spent 10 years building. 100 staff. 5,000 clients. I sold it because the mentor I trusted most told me machines were coming for writing, and I believed him.
That was a year before ChatGPT existed.
Most people thought I’d lost my mind.
Then January 2023 happened.
I watched an AI do what I’d charged $3,000 an article for. It replaced me. Personally. My skill, my craft, the thing I’d built my whole career on. For $30 in tokens.
I had a choice in that moment that a lot of you are facing right now.
Panic, or drive.
I burned every ship. I went all in. I became president of the company that built the software that replaced me, and I stayed from 2023 to the end of 2024.
I sat next to the engineers.
I read every book on this I could find.
I interviewed the people whose names you see in these headlines.
I went to conference after conference and learned until I understood the machine from the inside.
….
Then, in the fall of 2024 I started First Movers and hired some of the best coders and AI integrators I could find.
So when I tell you what this thing is, not from a viral 30 second reel. But from two years in the terminal.
It’s a machine. A sophisticated one, getting more capable every month.
And it is extremely fallible the second you take the human out.
It misreads instructions. It loops.
It confidently does the wrong thing at 2am.
Every serious builder I know has a story about the day an agent went sideways and a person caught it.
Nothing ships in my company without a human saying yes. Not because I’m scared of it. Because that’s what driving a machine means.
Now, what actually happened this wee.
A 27-year-old researcher quit and said the builders fear AI could kill us all by 2030.
Further down he says he’s optimistic this is fixable. The safety lead who agreed with him said today’s models are low risk.
And that reel telling you executives are going to force a chip into your brain? Scroll to the bottom. It’s selling a doomsday prep kit. Your fear is somebody’s product. It always was.
The machine didn’t sell my agency. I did.
The machine didn’t take that president role, or leave it, or start First Movers.
I did.
The machine doesn’t decide what runs in my business today. I do.
So here’s my ask.
Stop letting a 30-second clip run your nervous system for three days. Go read the whole thread, not the screenshot. Open the tool. Put your own hands on it. Watch what it does. Then decide what you believe.
The machines are getting more and more powerful. I won’t pretend otherwise. I’ve watched it happen up close for two years.
But they are nothing without the fingerprint of a human driving them. Not today. Not in 2030.
We got the future backwards.
The movies promised metal armies and red skies.
What actually arrived was a quiet afternoon, sunshine and green grass, hanging with your partner, and literally nothing in the world that needs you right now except this.
The old world is dead. Stop preparing for it.
∙College debt for a 9-to-5 → obsolete
∙“Climb the ladder” → ladder’s gone
∙“Secure a pension” → pension was the bait
∙“Pick a career” → pick a problem to solve instead
∙“Wait your turn” → there are no turns anymore
The map you were given was for a country that no longer exists.
They say AI will destroy work. I say, good. Because what we call work today has destroyed us - our creativity, our families, our purpose. Time to let machines do machine work. Humans can be human again.
Comparing Opus 4 to 4.1, side by side.
From sharper design mocks to smoother animations, 4.1 produces more polished outputs—with more depth and complexity.
Examples from us and the community:
someday soon something smarter than the smartest person you know will be running on a device in your pocket, helping you with whatever you want.
this is a very remarkable thing.
Me waiting for GPT-5 all week: 👀👀👀 … 🦗
Meanwhile, TODAY, we finally published the full tutorial on how my AI clone, Dr. McCoy, was made. The world’s first AI avatar to hit 100k on YouTube.
"AI will keep getting better and the day will come when AI will do all of our, all the things that we can do. Not just some of them but all of them."
And Ilya Sutskever is sure about this.
Its coming.
Humanoid robots with Artificial Universal Intelligence (AUI) will be capable of cooking every meal with almost no labor cost.
AUI will have the maximum level of intelligence and ability in every field. It will be able to cook every meal like a five-star chef.
Dining out and ordering takeout will be so inexpensive that many people will not bother having a kitchen in their homes.
Here's what happens when you underestimate exponential change:
2020: "AI is just a fancy autocomplete"
2023: "ChatGPT is impressive but limited"
2024: "AI agents are getting interesting"
2025: "Wait, how did AI get THIS good?"
2030: "I can't remember how we did anything before AI"
This pattern repeats across every breakthrough technology.
We consistently:
- Overestimate short-term impact
- Massively underestimate long-term transformation
- Get caught unprepared when the hockey stick curve hits
Smart money isn't betting against acceleration.
Smart money is positioning for the world where energy is free, work is automated, and human creativity is the only scarce resource.
Are you preparing for 2030, or still optimizing for 2020?
