I set up Wildlife First Response to equip road users to take initial steps to help injured wildlife, and give deceased wildlife dignity in death. #vegan 💚

Today I headed over to @VisitDundreggan ; part of an ambitious, ground-breaking charity & living example of rewilding in action & landscape in recovery (Trees for Life). I had a great time walking the paths and spotting the wildlife who now call Dundreggan home.
Inverness Justice Centre. A couple of weeks ago, there were hundreds of Vapourer moth caterpillars in an external glass atrium forming an area between different parts of the building. Today, most of them were dead or dying because the Centre’s facilities people… 1/2
Sprayed them all with pesticide because they thought they were a threat to humans. WE ARE IN A BIODIVERSITY CRISIS. When will you wake the hell up. This is not the way to deal with human/wildlife conflict. @COPFS
Won’t tire of the view from my new place. A resident Red Kite hunts outside my window. Pics are rubbish! House Martins feed often 20+ at a time. Grey Wagtail visited.Amber listed. RSPB states they are found across UK with the exception of N Scotland! I’m 20 mins NW of Inverness!
This big beastie landed on the outside (thankfully) of my bedroom window today.
It is a female Dark Giant Horsefly, and their bites are bloomin’ awful. As much as I love biodiversity, this wee blood sucker can stay away!! #biodiversity#flies#fly#horsefly#wildlife#nature
❗BREAKING: This shocking footage taken near #Gigha shows dead flapper skates - which are critically endangered - along with other rays. These animals have been caught as unwanted bycatch by the nets of a prawn trawler & illegally discarded.

The roads are really busy right now, and it’s having an impact on wildlife. Sadly, I removed this beautiful Pine Marten from a road in Moray, and laid the little one to rest in a more dignified spot. Please take extra care & tell your friends and family to do the same.
It’s a lot and, as much as I’m a whirlwind, I’m also aware of my capabilities & time constraints. I’ll keep the socials going for education purposes & make look to sell off stock in the near future. Thanks for your support 🙏🏻❤️
I’ve taken the decision to stop the trading arm of WFR. As you know, I’m on my own, but you may not know that I also work as a Lawyer, Environmental & Social Justice campaigner, Director & Trustee of a rewilding charity, and write about animal law & wildlife crime.
I was sad to spot this beautiful juvenile Song Thrush lying on the road today with a broken neck having likely been hit by a car. What a sad end to a beautiful life. I carefully moved her off the road to a final resting place.

Sorry guys, I know this is upsetting. I came across this little one on Nairn beach yesterday. I don’t know the background as to the cause of death etc, but it was fascinating to take a closer look. Rest easy, little one 😢
It’s time to go home to the Highlands. I’ll be pulling together all stock & running a flash sale in the next couple of weeks so I don’t have to take loads of stuff with me! There could be some bargains in amongst it!
I’m sorry I couldn’t help you wee buddy when a driver left you in agony in the road. I hope by being there for you as your breathing ebbed away & your heart stopped, it showed you some people care. 🥺
