A Jersey Mike’s employee in Baltimore, David, is receiving mass praise after refusing to take abuse from a black woman demanding free food for her “birthday.”
“I want a free birthday meal.”
“Fck your birthday.”
I invite bishops and parents to prayerfully help youth focus their lives on Jesus Christ, trust in Him, and prepare with faith to serve Him through missionary service.
As they do, they will come to know the Savior more deeply, strengthen their discipleship, and experience the joy and blessings that come from faithfully following Him.
I’m sitting in a Book of Mormon class at BYU, and I can’t help but marvel at why any truly conservative parents wouldn’t want their children to come to a school where they can feast upon the word of God while also receiving a top notch education.
BYU is truly amazing.
Cleanse your timeline with the inspired wisdom of a 96-year old President Hinckley.
“In the on-working of this great cause, increased faith is what we most need. Without it, the work would stagnate. With it, no one can stop its progress.”
This man was truly a prophet of God.
I feel increasingly drawn to the Savior’s love and the never-ending blessings promised us through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
When I think of the suffering I have personally seen as I have traveled throughout much of the world in my calling as an Apostle—which is so infinitesimally small compared with all those who have or will ever walk the earth—I cannot, with any words I know, describe the feelings in my heart for what must have occurred in the heart and mind and body and soul of the Savior in His sacred moments of all-encompassing suffering for the sins and pain of all humanity.
He did not shield us from the difficult experiences of life that bring immeasurable pain, but He protected us from everlasting suffering and estrangement from Heavenly Father and allowed us, through His all-encompassing suffering, to have the blessing of perfect joy and eternal happiness in the presence of God.
The human mind can scarcely begin to comprehend how completely the destiny of mankind changed because of what happened in Gethsemane, on the cross, and at the tomb.

I invite you to join me at https://t.co/DvO30jyBlh on June 7 as we discuss how to hear God's voice in an age of artificial intelligence. You are not a data point. You’re a beloved child of God with moral agency and divine potential.
“Cultivate an attitude of happiness. Cultivate a spirit of optimism. Walk with faith, rejoicing in the beauties of nature, in the goodness of those you love, in the testimony which you carry in your heart concerning things divine.”

#SundayThought
Today is Mother’s Day in France.
With children living on both sides of the Atlantic, our family has the blessing of celebrating Mother’s Day twice each year—a privilege certainly well deserved by my wife, Valérie.
One of our daughters once shared a touching testimony of how her mother’s example continues to guide her in her own role as a young mother. She said:
"Today, whenever I have a decision to make regarding my own children, I think about what my mother would do.
When I reflect on the joyful nature she has always had—and still has today—I simply want to be like her.
Her example has inspired me to create a happy home, just as she did, and to lead with love as she always has.
I find joy in raising my children because she often told me how much she loved being a mother.
Each Sunday, I feel a desire to attend church with my family because she passed on to me the joy she felt in taking us to church."
I feel deeply grateful for Valérie and for the happiness she brings into our lives.
May we all strive to create loving, Christ-centered homes—places where joy can flourish and where our children are inspired to cherish the gospel throughout their lives.
Today we honor mothers and women of all ages and circumstances.
When I think of those who have helped make me who I am, I think first of my sweet and selfless eternal companion, Melanie.
Through the years, she has helped mold me like potter’s clay into a more polished disciple of Jesus Christ. She knows when to draw me back, slow me down, and get it right. In large measure, it’s her spiritual influence that has led to everything that I’ve done spiritually. She’s kept me spiritually grounded.
Women of faith have profound influence upon families and the world. Please know you are cherished and loved. I sustain you on this day and every day.
The martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum Smith sealed the testimony of the Book of Mormon.
No two brothers have done more to advance God’s work in this last dispensation!
The Savior Himself invites us: “Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me” (Doctrine and Covenants 88:63).
Speaking to graduating students during BYU’s April 2026 commencement, I reflected on how that invitation became real during my own university years.
Amid a demanding schedule of study and work, I found peace and strength by setting aside time to draw nearer to the Lord—often sitting in my car to study and ponder the scriptures between classes or during meals.
Coming closer to Jesus Christ is not a single event. It is the steady work of a lifetime, accomplished in quiet, consistent, often unseen acts. Drawing nearer to Christ doesn’t remove all uncertainty from our paths, but it gives us clarity of purpose, resilience in adversity, and peace that surpasses understanding.
In a world of competing voices and shifting values, President Dallin H. Oaks has reaffirmed a timeless truth: Our greatest progress, our truest success, and our lasting joy will always be found in drawing nearer to the Lord Jesus Christ.
