Perspective for those with short-term memory:

Iran ordered the Oct 7th attacks via Hamas to foil the Saudi-Israel normalisation, which was right on the horizon at the time.

The result?

Gaza is a parking lot. IDF is still hunting down all those involved in Oct 7th attacks one by one. There are still IDF strikes in Gaza every week.

Then Iran's primary and most powerful proxy, Hezbollah, decided to intervene for Hamas.

The result?

IDF is in large parts of southern Lebanon and has flattened entire villages that were previously Hezbollah strongholds and tunnel cities.

Iran then managed to hoodwink the Americans, via JD, Pakistan, Qatar and Turkey, to sign what basically amounted to a U.S. surrender agreement. And then Iran went ahead and blew it up anyway.

What's funny is that in that surrender document, Iran had actually managed to get the U.S. to accept that the Lebanon front is part of the Iran front. Not a single word on Gaza or Palestinians or Hamas though. None of that was as important for Iran as trying to save Hezbollah.

The Palestinians are nothing more than cannon fodder for the Iranian regime. Hamas was nothing more than cannon fodder for the Iranian regime. Yahya Sinwar screwed Gaza for the Iranians and then died like a coward while throwing a stick at an Israeli drone.

Notice how we're not seeing a single reference to Gaza or Palestinians from the Iranian regime and its fanatical supporters these days. It's because the war has come home for them.

Another funny thing is that Saudis knew why Iran ordered Oct 7th attacks and yet still decided not to join Abraham Accords. But at the end of the day, they still got bombed by Iran and its proxies. And there's probably more to come for them.

A lot of lessons to learn for everyone. The Israelis learned theirs after Oct 7th. Let's see when others will learn theirs.

On m'a remis le « dossier personnel » du KGB sur Arafat. C'était un bourgeois égyptien transformé en marxiste dévoué par les services de renseignements étrangers du KGB. Le KGB l'avait formé à son école d'opérations spéciales de Balashikha, à l'est de Moscou, et avait décidé, au milieu des années 60, de le préparer à devenir le futur chef de l'OLP. Tout d'abord, le KGB a détruit les registres officiels de la naissance d'Arafat au Caire et les a remplacés par des documents fictifs indiquant qu'il était né à Jérusalem et qu'il était donc Palestinien de naissance.
Le département de désinformation du KGB a ensuite travaillé sur le tract de quatre pages d'Arafat intitulé « Falastinuna » (Notre Palestine), le transformant en un magazine mensuel de 48 pages pour l'organisation terroriste palestinienne al-Fatah. Arafat dirigeait al-Fatah depuis 1957. Le KGB le distribue dans tout le monde arabe et en Allemagne de l'Ouest, qui accueille à l'époque de nombreux étudiants palestiniens....
Arafat était un agent secret important pour le KGB. Juste après la guerre israélo-arabe des six jours de 1967, Moscou l'a nommé président de l'OLP. C'est le dirigeant égyptien Gamal Abdel Nasser, une marionnette soviétique, qui a proposé cette nomination. En 1969, le KGB a demandé à Arafat de déclarer la guerre au « sionisme impérial » américain lors du premier sommet de l'Internationale du terrorisme noir, une organisation néo-fasciste pro-palestinienne financée par le KGB et le Libyen Moammar Kadhafi. Le cri de guerre impérialo-sioniste a tellement plu à Arafat qu'il a prétendu plus tard l'avoir inventé. Mais en fait, le « sionisme impérial » est une invention de Moscou, une adaptation moderne des « Protocoles des Sages de Sion », et depuis longtemps l'outil favori des services secrets russes pour fomenter la haine ethnique. Le KGB a toujours considéré l'antisémitisme et l'anti-impérialisme comme une source abondante d'anti-américanisme....
En mars 1978, j'ai secrètement amené Arafat à Bucarest pour qu'il reçoive les dernières instructions sur la façon de se comporter à Washington. « Vous n'avez qu'à continuer à prétendre que vous allez rompre avec le terrorisme et que vous allez reconnaître Israël - encore et encore et encore », lui a dit Ceausescu pour la énième fois.... المشكلة يا دكتور جعجع ليست أنك أخطأت في وصف المجلس، بل أنك تصف، للمرة الألف، نظامًا تعمل داخله منذ عقود.

تقول إن المجلس فضيحة، وإن نوابه يش��ّعون بلا دراسة، ويحمّلون الخزينة مئات الملايين، ويعيدون إنتاج أسباب الانهيار. حسنًا: أين كان تكتل «الجمهورية القوية» طوال سنوات المشاركة في الانتخابات والحكومات واللجان والتسويات والموازنات؟ هل اكتُشفت طبيعة هذا النظام في جلسة الأمس فقط؟

ثم تأتي ذروة العبث: ستتقدّمون باقتراح قانون إلى المجلس نفسه، لكي يقصّر المجلس نفسه ولايةً مدّدها المجلس نفسه! أي إن علاج فشل المنظومة، بحسب القوات، هو أن نطلب من المنظومة أن تعاقب نفسها وفق أصول المنظومة.

هذه ليست معارضة؛ هذه وظيفة داخل النظام: المشاركة فيه عند توزيع المقاعد والوزارات، والتبرؤ منه عند ظهور النتائج، ثم العودة إليه عبر اقتراح قانون جديد وانتخابات جديدة بخطاب خشبي قديم، من دون المساس بالبنية التي تعيد إنتاج الفشل.

منذ 2005 يتكرر المشهد: انتخابات، تحالفات، حكومات، انسحابات، تسويات رئاسية، اعتراضات، ثم العودة إلى الصندوق بالقانون نفسه والمنطق نفسه والتوازنات نفسها. تتبدل الشعارات وتبقى قواعد اللعبة: محاصصة طائفية، حقول تعطيل متبادلة، دولة مركزية فيتو متبادل، ومجلس لا يمثل شعبًا سياسيًا واحدًا بقدر ما يمثل تفاهمات زعماء الجماعات.

إن كنتم مقتنعين فعلًا بأن المجلس فقد شرعيته، فلا تختبئوا خلف «اقتراح قانون». قولوا الحقيقة: المشكلة ليست في سوء أداء بعض النواب، بل في النظام الذي يحوّل كل استحقاق إلى مقايضة طائفية، وكل إصلاح سيادي إلى صفقة، وكل انتخابات إلى إعادة تدوير للنخب نفسها.

أما الاستمرار في اللعب داخل القواعد نفسها، وا��تظار نتيجة مختلفة كل أربع سنوات، فليس مقاومة للمنظومة. إنه التعريف الأدق للفشل السياسي.
