Live Events that Make an Impact
Do you have a burning topic where you want to see action taken? And where you would love to collect valuable qualitative research at the same time?
If you have a topic that will benefit the public sector/citizens and you would like to set up an event with me - please reach out with a DM on Linkedin.
Yesterday's event (our first of this type) on Moral Injury went really well and I think we have evidenced that this can be a major force for good for all involved!
Check out the recording for the event here: https://t.co/d9fN2zH391
Here are just a few of the thoughtful insights shared by attendees:
“The challenge lies within the command-and-control approach, which doesn’t encourage meaningful feedback.”
"Bec’s point is spot on—we can't build a brilliant healthcare system in a fractured society that demands us to run faster on the global productivity wheel."
"When asked, 'Why are we here?', the responses are often just lip service. The red carpet is rolled out for the CQC, not the service users."
“We need to start sending these messages to government ministers—they simply don’t grasp our daily reality."
“This session was incredibly enlightening.”
"Thanks so much for hosting this important event!"
Let’s continue the conversation and drive change together.
And people who sign up get the opportunity to take the research report (generated on the day) back to the office to start the change process - almost immediately.
Sign up for the next event (The Problem with Meetings) here. https://t.co/zsJmNmjANd
There is SO MUCH SCOPE to improve meeting efficiency. For every minute of non productive meeting time (Just nurses and midwives in England) there is an almost £60M loss to the NHS / patient. On Friday, we will research and get a better understanding of how many minutes we are losing to poor meetings - it will be fascinating!
Hope to see you there!

Moral Injury – A Story That Needs to Be Heard
I recently had the privilege of interviewing James Hall, a retired senior police officer in Counter Terrorism, for the latest episode of Desert Island Diaries (coming out this Sunday).
By chance, James shared a compelling account of Moral Injury—a concept many leaders overlook but one that profoundly impacts individuals and teams. 🎧
👇 Check out the clip below to hear his powerful story.
Want to explore this critical topic further? Join us TODAY at 12:00 noon for a live research session where we’ll be unpacking Moral Injury with insights from speakers and real-time audience contributions.
It’s a unique chance to co-create understanding and solutions that matter.
🔗 Save your spot here: https://t.co/hqfNYpDIkc
(Even if you can’t attend live, register to receive the recording and the full research report!) 📄
This is more than a discussion—it’s a revolutionary approach to research, where your voice 📣 helps shape the findings.
“Reform or die”—let’s choose reform together!

📉 Running from an Avalanche 🏃❄️
It often starts with something small—a single task that feels manageable. But as more responsibilities pile on, it begins to snowball. 📚😩 Before you know it, that tiny snowball has turned into an avalanche, burying everything in its path. 🏔️
The problem? When we’re caught in this cycle, our instinct is to keep running, thinking we can outrun it if we just work a little harder, a little faster. But here’s the truth: You can’t outpace an avalanche. 🏃♂️💨
The solution isn’t to keep running... it’s to step aside. Take a moment, breathe, and look for a new path. 🌲🍃
In high-pressure environments like healthcare, pausing can feel counterintuitive. But sometimes, the bravest move is recognising that slowing down is what breaks the cycle. 🛑🔄
Could your new path be the "Fit to Care" book?

Would you step aside, or are you still trying to run in front of the avalanche? 💭💪 Let me know in the comments! 👇
Sunday morning. Coffee machine breaks. ☕🚨 Realised how much I relied on it—emergency!
Thought I knew everything about coffee, but proper research taught me:
Grind
Pressure
Process time
Getting these right transformed the same beans. 🤯
Sound familiar at work?
Sometimes we think we know it all, until we get close to the work and really understand it.
Don't just watch—do the work. That’s where real insights happen.

💸 £881.6M wasted annually on inefficient meetings for nurses & midwives in England—if they lose just 15 mins per day.
On 18th Oct, we’re diving into this to see if 15 mins is a realistic (or conservative) estimate. 🕒
Join us: https://t.co/REqadQoKc5
Do you think 15 mins/day is too conservative? 🤔 #NHS #Nurses #Healthcare #MeetingEfficiency #TimeManagement
9.4% MORE NURSES – BUT WHY DOES IT FEEL WORSE?
Despite a 9.4% increase in staff and £2.275B more investment, the NHS still feels under immense pressure. More resources haven’t eased the crisis—maybe it’s not just about money.
THE REAL ISSUE: Management Focus
Top-down, target-driven management isn’t working. We need to listen to frontline nurses—the real Patient Champions. True reform starts bottom-up, harnessing frontline insights to meet patient needs.
Does this resonate? Let’s discuss live every Friday at 12:00 Noon.

Ever feel this way at work? Not from boredom, but because you aren’t being all you can be? 💡
You have ideas but no one listens, or it feels pointless to try…😢
If this hits home, give it a LIKE 👍. Let’s see how widespread this is — feels like a #workplace pandemic!

@Dr_Ellie I think that you are being very short sighted here (we know you are overwhelmed but that is not the fault of zoe.) Simply put, moving people from ultra processed food to whole food is going to do nothing but reduce your workloads over the longer term.
@Dr_Ellie@Dr_Ellie have you actually been through the Zoe app / process? I don't think you have. There is a heck of a lot of robust study possible as a result of the zoe app - (possible through memberships). I would prefer the NHS were more proactive encouraging nutrition...
