Dear Senator,
Are you aware that Jack Smith brought an indictment against a leader whom Joe Biden, a Democratic leader, called “the George Washington of Kosovo”? This is a leader who was also supported by Bill Clinton, another Democratic president.

You continue to present Jack Smith as a hero for prosecuting Hashim Thaçi — a leader who received the backing of the United States military and General Wesley Clark. That support began immediately after a Senate vote in 1999 that authorized President Bill Clinton to intervene in the Balkans.

Furthermore, Jack Smith accused a Balkan leader who declared Kosovo’s independence — an independence that the United States recognized one day later.

I respectfully ask you to explain why the United States Senate supported a state and a leader now being treated as criminal. Do you grant Jack Smith such authority that he is permitted to criminalize the entire history of America and its contribution to peace in Kosovo and the Balkans?
