@rainescud@OkeyDoker@watchdutyapp@elonmusk You can’t fill those pipes directly from a reservoir. It’s a municipal drinking system, potable water. There are water storage tanks but those only hold a couple million gallons. Houses in hills also have it worse from being higher, need more pressure.
@Jobot88@moonmagic1983@elonmusk I am an expert on the subject. Water is not the issue. Think about how much water volume can fit on a pipe that is buried under the road. Not a lot. You can’t fight more than a couple of large fires before water volume running out and having to allow time for pumps to fill system
@rainescud@OkeyDoker@watchdutyapp@elonmusk No, that is wrong. Hydrants are fed from small pipes, think about much much water is stored in those pipes before having pumps push more water. System is not designed to fight thousands of fires at once, no system anywhere is the US is designed to do so.
