Have you wondered why a person is called a "pussy" when they show a lack of courage? That's because the word is "pusillanimous".

PUSILLANIMOUS:
showing a lack of courage or determination; timid.

LITERALLY
This word is often used wrongly.
It means word for word; not figuratively.

Hence, if a person says "I literally cried a bucket of tears.", they mean they actually cried a bucket.

However, it's gradually being accepted as "figuratively" but NOT in formal writing.
