Agree that Spence knew what he was doing, which all players should do in protecting the ball.

In doing this he effectively cuts out the defender who cannot tackle.

Happens all over the pitch & a foul is given if defender tackles.

You can be confident this would be given as a foul >90% of the time outside the box. Defenders do it all the time.
