🚨 BREAKING: Max Dowman’s red card has been overturned following Arsenal’s successful appeal.
The FA statement reads:
“Following a review of the incident involving involving referee Michael Salisbury, Arsenal’s Max Dowman and Fleetwood Town, the decision to issue a red card has been rescinded.
“After examining the available footage, the panel concluded that the dismissal was not justified by Dowman’s actions. The decision has therefore been overturned, and the suspension has been withdrawn.
“Max Dowman is eligible for selection ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League fixture against Liverpool on Sunday.

@Andymb28@DeadStarLegacy@HACKETTREF I’m not going to argue with you, I played football for long enough, and in my opinion it’s two yellows, and get on with it. No Arsenal hat on, I call things out regardless who’s playing.
Age is not a consideration in the laws of the game. Max Dowman was wearing a shirt of one of England top class club
I also know that the Fleetwood Player should have been sanctioned
@HACKETTREF Potential career ending tackle on a 16 year old nothing.
Shoving of 16 year old by multiple grown men nothing.
16 year old seeing his career flash before his eyes and reacting less than Cole Palmer (who got a yellow) red card.
Seems a little disproportionate.

Who is making these decisions? Who are the faceless figures that sit on these panels.
What knowledge do they have of the laws of the game.
They TheFa are bringing the game into disrepute. They are letting the referees down
🚨🔵 EXCLUSIVE: FA suspends Cole Palmer’s one-match ban following Chelsea appeal ✅️
The Football Association has suspended Cole Palmer’s red card and the accompanying one-match ban, allowing the England international to be available for Chelsea’s EFL cup fixture against Liverpool on 28 October.
According to reports, the FA reached the decision after Chelsea successfully appealed the sanction, citing Palmer’s previously clean disciplinary record and the fact that he had not previously been involved in incidents of this nature. The suspension is conditional, however: any further red-card offence will automatically trigger a four-match ban.
Referee John Hunting (Leicester) sees the keeper collect the ball in the Norwich-Luton game in October 1971 - Norwich went on to win promotion to Division 1 for the first time. This was early in John Hunting's very long & successful career as a Football League ref (1968-1984).
Disgraceful comment from a very poor petulant player on the field of play. Perhaps if he showed some dignity on the field and off it he may go on to win the award in the future.
Poor loser
🚨Kylian Mbappé on his altercation with Harry Kane after losing the Ballon d’Or.
Reporter: We saw you confronting Harry Kane after the ceremony. What happened between you two?
Kylian Mbappé: Honestly, I congratulated him, but I wasn't going to pretend I was happy with the result. I believe I deserved that award, and I wasn't going to stand there smiling as if everything made sense.
Harry had a fantastic season, I'm not denying that. But I scored goals in almost every competition I played in, finished as the highest scorer in several of them, and delivered at the highest level. So naturally, I questioned the decision.
Reporter: We heard you told him he had stolen your award. Do you regret saying that?
Kylian Mbappé: No, because I was frustrated. Maybe I could have chosen better words, but I'm not going to lie about how I felt.
I told him, “Congratulations on winning an award I believe should have been mine.” And he immediately became defensive.
Then he told me to shut up and move on, saying Lamine Yamal had more reasons to complain than I did because he won the World Cup and still congratulated him respectfully.
Reporter: Kane also asked whether you were seriously going to cry because you didn't win. What was your reaction?
Kylian Mbappé: That was the part that annoyed me the most. Lamine being classy doesn't mean I have to pretend I'm not disappointed. We are different people, with different personalities.
And let's be honest, Harry knows how much this award means to me. I've spent years trying to reach this level. When you believe you've done enough to win something and it goes to someone else, you're allowed to question it.
But apparently, if you question the result, you're a sore loser. If you smile and congratulate everyone, you're suddenly a gentleman. Football doesn't work like that.
Reporter: But do you believe Kane didn't deserve to win?
Kylian Mbappé: I never said he was a bad player or that he had a bad season. He deserved to be among the candidates. That doesn't automatically mean he deserved to finish above me.
And I find it funny that everyone wants to talk about my reaction instead of discussing what happened on the pitch. Nobody is asking whether the voters got the decision right. Everyone is asking why Mbappé is upset.
Maybe that's because people have become so accustomed to seeing me win that they enjoy watching me lose.
I respect Harry Kane, but respect doesn't mean I have to agree with every decision made against me.
Reporter: Would you congratulate him if you saw him again?
Kylian Mbappé: Of course. I'm not going to spend my life arguing with Harry Kane over one award. I'll shake his hand, congratulate him, and move on.
But let me make one thing clear: I didn't come this far to be satisfied with coming second.
Harry has his Ballon d'Or. I have my ambitions. And the next time we're having this conversation, I hope it's because I've won the award myself.
🎙️ A lip reader has decoded the heated exchange between Martin Ødegaard and referee Michael Salisbury after Max Dowman’s red card:
Ødegaard: “That's a yellow card in five different languages.”
Salisbury: “What are you saying? Trying to act like captain material in front of the cameras?”
Ødegaard: “You're really going to send off a 16-year-old kid? He's younger than some of the ball boys!”
Salisbury: “Just did. The game is the game. Let's not get sentimental now.”
Ødegaard: “So you're telling me you looked at a 16-year-old boy and thought, ‘Yeah, let's ruin his evening’?”
Salisbury: “I'm telling you his age isn't written into the laws of the game.”
Ødegaard: “Neither is your ego, but here we are.”
Salisbury: “Careful, Martin. Keep talking and you'll be joining him.”
Ødegaard: “Send me off too, then. At least we'll have matching stories for the dressing room.”
Salisbury: “You can tell him the story from the stands.”
Ødegaard: “Unbelievable. You've just made yourself the most famous man in the stadium for all the wrong reasons.”
Salisbury: “And you've just made yourself the next man I'm watching very closely.”
Spot on that challenge by the Fleetwood player should have seen minimum yellow card. The retaliation is the one that is an easy spot for the officials
The Asst was close by also
@HACKETTREF Worthy of a red for Dowman without any card for Neal? Why is it always the retaliation gets punished more severely than the initial offence?
Well I stated that Palmers actions were a red.
This one is a kick in retaliation to a reckless challenge by the Fleetwood player. The referee could not ignore Dowmsns kick out
