Build, rather than buy. That was my message at #INNOPROMIndia 2026 in New Delhi, speaking at the UAC session.

India is becoming the world's third-largest aviation market, yet hundreds of towns still wait for their first flight. UDAN has flown 1.5 crore+ (15 million) passengers in 9 years. UDAN 2.0 adds 120 new destinations with nearly Rs 29,000 crore (USD 3 billion+) behind it.

The demand was always there. What was missing was the right aircraft. With UAC, Flamingo Aerospace is on a phased path to localise and industrialise the IL-114-300 in India. From buyer of aircraft to builder of them. Make in India, make for the world. 🇮🇳🤝🇷🇺

A new regional IL-114-300 variant, 68-seat regional turboprop, was on static display at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The IL-114-300 aircraft (S/n: 1001 / Registration: 54116) is the third flight prototype and second completely newly constructed airframe of the modern Russian regional turboprop powered by two Klimov TV7-117ST-01 engines with Aerosila AV-112-114 six-blade composite propellers.

According to Russian media, Chief Designer Mikhail Alekseev announced plans to produce three IL-114-300 regional aircraft in 2026, with a cargo version expected to be introduced in approximately three years.

At 11:30 AM today, Skyroot Aerospace will undertake the maiden orbital launch of Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed launch vehicle.

This four-stage rocket is designed to provide rapid and on-demand launch services. This mission highlights the talent, determination and entrepreneurial spirit of our youth. It also shows how our space-sector reforms are unlocking new opportunities for innovation and enterprise.

My best wishes to the entire Skyroot Aerospace team for a successful launch. May Vikram-1 soar high, create history and inspire a generation of innovators.
