Mujhe rang de... and that evening, we were all coloured in the many hues of the sari.

A beautiful evening at @kunzum, GK2, for the launch of The Sari Eternal, where I was delighted to be in conversation with @MalaMalvika Singh — one of the book’s earliest and most discerning readers, and the first to review it with such heartfelt appreciation and insight. Together, we explored the sari not merely as six yards of fabric, but as India’s unstitched memory — carrying mythology, history, womanhood, craft, diplomacy and reinvention in its folds.There was humor , wit and mirth as much as philosophy and reflection .

It was an honour to have H.E. Ms @MayElinStener, Ambassador of Norway to India and Bhutan, as our Chief Guest. In the grace and individuality with which she wears the sari, she shows how this timeless Indian drape can be embraced across cultures — not as costume, but as connection; not as imitation, but as an intimate act of belonging.

The evening was enriched by the presence of many Ambassadors, participation from several diplomatic missions, and a warm gathering of readers, friends, culture lovers and sari enthusiasts.

My gratitude to @VFSGlobal for bringing this elegant celebration together, especially Mr Sanjit Johar, who anchored the evening with warmth and grace, and to Kunzum Books, GK2, and @ajayjain for so passionately nurturing and promoting the love of books, for hosting a conversation where literature, diplomacy and the living poetry of the sari came together so beautifully.
