On Saturday, I attended the 28th African American Read-In at Steelton-Highspire Elementary School

The event showcased local African American authors and performances highlighting the 2026 Black History Month theme, “A Century of Black History Month Commemorations.”

Last week, I joined advocates, leaders, and history makers at @GovernorShapiro's Residence to celebrate Black History Month. It was a wonderful time and an incredible way to wrap up the month.

I had an incredible time at PA STEAM Academy's Living Wax Museum! Students were tasked with bringing history to life by portraying influential African American figures through research, storytelling, and performance.

This week, my staff joined Secretary Redding at Central Dauphin Middle School to promote PA's thriving beef industry.

Students taste-tested a variety of burgers to choose which will appear on upcoming lunch menus.

Week 3, day 3 of @PA_HouseApprops hearings centers around higher education. We’ll hear today from PA State Related Universities (PSU, Pitt, Temple, and Lincoln) as well as community colleges and PASSHE schools (Millersville, IUP, West Chester) and others.

We’ve seen firsthand the difference recreation dollars can make around the district. I asked the leaders of DCNR what could be done if we made more investment in grants and programs to improve neighborhoods across the Commonwealth.

I’m sure not everybody watches the U.S. Supreme Court as much as I do.  So, during our #PABudget hearings I wanted to get clarity on the difference in how our courts in the Commonwealth handle the decisions they hand down.

This is an issue that’s near and dear to my heart. I spoke with @PAHumanServices about the $25 million in childcare worker grants that was passed in last year's #PaBudget. I also asked about the demand of these grants and how many workers have received their grant payment.

I spoke with @PAHumanServices about centers for independent living and their mission of assisting individuals living with disabilities. The end goal — improving their quality of life to ultimately live independently. #PABudget

Today @PA_HouseApprops hears from @PAStateDept which works with counties to carry out elections, issues licenses for businesses and non-profits, and professional licensure. We’ll also speak to the @PA_PUC which regulates electricity, gas, and water utilities throughout the state.

Today @PA_HouseApprops speaks with @PAHumanServices which is an important agency that provides funding to care for our most vulnerable populations. They are the only department we’re meeting with today, so we’ll get a lot of information on their operations. #pabudget
