🎯 DRILL OF THE WEEK: THE LADDER DRILL 🎯

Looking to improve your trigger control, recoil management, and shooting rhythm? This week's challenge is all about building consistency—one shot at a time.

The Ladder Drill starts simple and progressively increases the number of rounds fired in each string. As the round count climbs, so does the challenge of maintaining a smooth cadence, proper grip, and clean sight picture.

🔴 Setup:
✅ Pistol Only
✅ 7 Yards
✅ USCCA Universal Target
✅ Goal: Keep every shot inside the 8" center circle
Course of Fire
🔹 String 1 – 1 Shot
🔹 String 2 – 2 Shots
🔹 String 3 – 3 Shots
🔹 String 4 – 4 Shots
🔹 String 5 – 5 Shots
Pause 1–1.5 seconds between each string to reset your grip, settle your sights, and prepare for the next sequence.
⏱️ Par Time: 10–12 Seconds
💡 Training Tip:
Don't rush the trigger. Focus on seeing your sights return after every shot and maintaining the same rhythm from your first shot to your fifteenth. Smooth is fast, and consistency beats speed every time.

🎯 Drill of the Week: The Box Drill
This week's drill is all about target transitions, recoil control, and shot accountability.Set up two silhouette targets approximately 2–3 yards apart at a distance of 7 yards. Starting from the low ready (or from the holster for approved shooters), engage the targets in the following sequence:🔹 2 rounds to the body of Target 1
🔹 2 rounds to the body of Target 2
🔹 1 round to the head of Target 2
🔹 1 round to the head of Target 1That's 6 rounds total and a great test of your ability to move your eyes first, drive the gun efficiently between targets, and maintain accuracy while increasing speed.Par Times:
🟢 Beginner: Under 6.0 seconds
🔵 Intermediate: Under 4.5 seconds
🔴 Advanced: Under 3.5 secondsThe Box Drill rewards shooters who can balance speed and precision while making clean transitions between targets. How solid are your fundamentals when the timer starts and there's no warm-up? The Baseline Assessment Drill is designed to test the skills that matter most: draw stroke, strong-hand shooting, support-hand shooting, reload efficiency, and accuracy at distance.

This cold-start challenge gives you a realistic snapshot of your current performance and highlights exactly where to focus your training. Shoot it cold, track your results, and see how your baseline improves over time.
