Until you get married, you will never understand why most married men cheat. Your wife can decide to close the strait of Hormuz for a whole month and because some men cannot go for long without oil, they decide to get it from Venezuela.
Karoo Farmer Louis Lategan Found Guilty Of Trafficking Six Young Women, Drugging Them, Raping Three And Assaulting Two Others In Major Makhanda High Court Verdict
Karoo farmer Louis Lategan, 42, has been found guilty of trafficking six young women and raping three of them in a case heard in the Makhanda High Court. Judge Judith Roberson delivered the verdict on Wednesday after Lategan was accused of drugging women he had hired to look after his children.
The women, aged between 18 and 24, had left school without finding employment and travelled hundreds of kilometres to Lategan’s farm in Xamdeboo, formerly Aberdeen. They believed they had been employed as au pairs for his two children. State advocate Nickie Turner told the court that Lategan gave them drinks allegedly laced with drugs.
Lategan was acquitted of raping two of the women but convicted of assaulting them. He was also found guilty of three counts of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm involving children aged 11, 12 and 13, another count of assaulting a child, two counts of assaulting an adult farm worker and two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition.
The farmer had denied drugging the women and maintained that they had willingly slept with him. One of the six women died by suicide in February 2022, another gave birth to his child, while another lost a pregnancy while living on the farm. Lategan initially faced 22 counts and was acquitted of another rape charge involving a minor.
