The Flip The Triangle QI Project puts Positive Behaviour Support into action on Shoreditch Ward @NHS_ELFT
Positive Practice in Mental Health QI Award Winners
Flip The Triangle is about changing the culture of our Forensic service.
Crisis situations used to take up the majority of our time and thinking space.
Now we FLIP it, so we focus much more on how to help our patients stay calm and settled and intervene before we get to crisis
Very sad to be leaving my post soon with @NHS_ELFT but it does mean a great opportunity for a new Psychologist to join the fantastic Shoreditch Team. Get in touch/apply if you are passionate about working with men with learning disabilities and forensics https://t.co/tWLAL8hQuS
This week we had our first (socially distanced) Away Day for the first time since the pandemic began. So good to connect as a team again. There was so much positive feedback to recognise in our compliments box! So grateful for the support we have recieved from each other 👏
The team was so excited to open our compliments box! We’ve spent the last month recognising each other’s hard work and times when we’ve felt supported by each other. Amazing to see the genuine appreciation and gratitude shared amongst our team #flipthetriangle#inmanaalwetrust
@NHS_ELFT's Staff Awards are celebrated in @HackneyGazette: Lead nurse at Homerton’s John Howard Centre among winners at NHS health trust awards night https://t.co/dDS1eTsIDI
Recognition of our Mental Health Nurses today on #MHNursesDay ! We have a great mix of MH & LD nurses, each bringing a unique set of skills and knowledge. Together we make Shoreditch Ward 🔻🔺
Huge congratulations to @DayNjovana who is our QI coach. Truely deserved, Day has had such a huge influence on Flip The Triangle and has continually helped make the project what it is today. Thank you Day!
@NHS_ELFT staff awards! Here to support the fabulous @gchingosho who has been nominated for 3 awards, only to also find out when reading the programme that Shoreditch ward and Flip The Triangle has also been nominated for 2 awards!! 🤞😆
Presentation to MSc course with @Dr_SJRennalls. Demonstrated different adaptions to therapeutic interactions using role plays. Students picked up on how important it was to adapt communication to help the service-user feel in control and listened to 😀
Made me really happy to read this. One of my big passions lies in helping my colleagues understand exactly how rewarding involvement can be for our people. It can help turn a potentially devastating MH condition into something positive and rewarding @SherKayani6 @MichelleRigozzi
Today’s QI meeting: Staff moved to tears recognising our service-users progress. We can’t under estimate the impact of genuine connection, care and respect in our therapetic relationships with service-users. Supporting someone to live a personally meaningful life is priceless
Reflecting on the last year of Flip The Triangle at our team away day 🔻🔺 How do we continue to recognise and internalise the positive work we have been doing? How do we maintain our motivation and enthusiasm for the project as we move to quality control? @ELFT_QI
Is trauma‐informed care solely about eliminating seclusion and restraint, or are there other tangible practices nurses could utilize to effect better health outcomes for mental health clients, especially those with significant abuse histories? https://t.co/Szu6n9sIjJ
And I’m feeling very inspired by their QI project @FlipTriangle which has shown me how PBS applied in a truly individualistic & collaborative way can be hugely helpful for the people that we work with, strengthen relationships with them & be a positive experience for staff too!
