Hey guys, we at Flo Haven are doing our bit to ensure there is little to zero stigma towards menstruation. Follow our social media pages for constant updates on how we plan to achieve this! #endingperiodpoverty 🩸
One day, I needed to get pads, so I went to the pharmacy with my male friend to get some. When I was trying to decide what brand and flow type to pick, he asked how they differed, and I explained to him in full detail. I even gave him the one I was holding to feel the texture.
A few days ago, we walked into a room full of young leaders and asked one question:
“If a girl in this room suddenly stained her uniform what would happen?”
The curiosity in that room told us everything. 🧵

Something shifted in that room.
When young people understand menstrual health, girls stop hiding. They stop missing school. They stop carrying shame that was never theirs.
That is the work.

And then we gave.
80 eco-friendly period kits went home with 80 girls.
Not as charity — as a reminder that their health has always mattered.
The boys weren’t left out either. Inclusion shapes culture.

We introduced menstrual products up close.
Pads. Cups. Period underwear.
Because a girl who knows her options is a girl who is prepared.
Curiosity is where shame begins to die.
4/7
We talked about periods.
Openly. Boldly. Without shame.
We spoke to the girls about their bodies and their right to dignity.
We spoke to the boys because this has never been just a girl’s issue.

Flo Haven partnered with the Lagos State Education District 1 at the Young Uplifters’ Club Leadership Camp 2026.
A district-wide initiative bringing together top-performing students across 100+ public secondary schools.
20 minutes. One important conversation.

💧What’s good menstrual health without clean water? 🌸
For too long, the women & girls of Alimosho have faced the daily challenge of accessing clean water -a basic necessity that should never be out of reach. Imagine having to pay for water just to manage your periods or hygiene
Which highlights the urgent need for change and the steps we’re taking to make a difference.
This Saturday, we’ll be commissioning a borehole providing free, clean water to the community and distributing eco-friendly menstrual hygiene kits to girls in need.
Together, we’re giving them the tools to reclaim their confidence, dignity, and future.
💬Watch, reflect, & join the movement. If you’re ready to see the full documentary and understand why we do what we do, drop a “💕💧” in the comments.
