@touchmestone Hi, thank you so much for getting in touch. These tend to date from late 18th century onwards so not usually over 300 years old. Are there any assay marks on the reverse so we can be certain. Thank you.
I will be at Perton library this Saturday as part of their special History Open Day. Come down on the day to learn more about the PAS, handle some real artefacts alongside re-enactors including a chance to meet some Vikings!
@rob_k_lewis Thanks for sharing, I was having the conversation last night after seeing it. Although it looks absolutely stunning wouldn't the money be better spent on the local communities that really need it ๐ค
Starts tonight on More4, catch some wonderful @finds colleagues. The wonderful Shropshire sun pendant is featured on tonight's episode, as first reported and much researched by @PeterReavill

Getting back to work after a lovely Easter break but also the strange feeling that @PeterReavill is missing from our team. It's going to take a while to get used to. I'm ever indebted for all his support when I first interned with @findsorguk
I'd like to thank my amazing PAS West Mids team - who just are the best people to work with @WandWFlo @StaffsWMFLO @FloMidlands @AngieMBolton
Also the wider #FLOlife team, all that reside in the Central Office @britishmuseum (@Tostig1066 / @TRegistrars) and the Finds Advisors
Should metal-detecting rally organisers have resources on hand (i.e. pay for an appropriately qualified archaeologist to be on site) to deal with in situ / significant finds?
Only 832 more signatures required to reach our goal of 10,000 on the petition to #SaveArchaeologyAtWorcester!
It's just over 4 weeks since @worcester_uni decided to close the course.
Students have still not been formally consulted.

@archundergrads
@ArchaeoAnni plodding along, finding ways to meet finders with many clubs not back to meeting yet and BMAG remaining closed to the public. Still plenty of finds to record which keep us going and we have been successful in applying for an intern, so we are excited for that โบ๏ธ
"I am upset postgraduates have been left out [of prior consultation] and deeply saddened for the discipline."
Thanks to Sammie Lynch for her #AlumniTestimonial!
Sammie temporarily withdrew from her studies and is now facing not completing her MRes!
@worcester_uni, not good!
Happy #WorldBeardDay!
Over on the database we have many great depictions of beards. So for today we have found DENO-FD5D1A, a #medieval lead papal bulla of Pope Urban IV. The bulla depicts two glorious beards on its reverse side on representations of Saints Peter and Paul.๐ง๐งโโ๏ธ
New in thePipeLine: WORCESTER STUDENTS ASK WHERE IS THEIR UNIVERSITYโS DUTY OF CARE?
Accusations that, in the haste to end archaeology teaching, the University of Worcester has failed to exercise its duty of care over the mental health of students.
