FloWave staff will be joining the @EdinInnovations team at @AllEnergy. Please come and speak to us at stand F55 to find out more about how we can support your tank testing requirements, and hear how we have been helping the industry for the last decade.
We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Prof Stephen Salter. FloWave would not exist without his pioneering work, and we will miss him. His legacy will not just be in the technologies he developed, but also in a generation (or more!) of skilled engineers he trained.
This Saturday (23 September) we'll be running demonstrations of the test tank from 11am to 2pm as part of @ColSciEng#DoorsOpenDay. Drop by to see how we replicate sea states from offshore renewable energy sites from around the world (plus some wave "party tricks"!).
Happy #NationalEngineeringDay to all our collaborators in @SchoolOfEng_UoE and beyond! As we get ready to enter our tenth year of operation it's great to see researchers in both academia and industry continuing push advances in #OceanEnergy and tank testing.
Congratulations to Stiesdal Offshore, whose Tetrasub technology has been selected for the Pentland Offshore Wind Farm. Looking forward to seeing this technology make the journey from the lab to the sea! @HenrikStiesdal

This collaborative work under the @MaRINET2_EU programme was a great experience, furthering tank testing knowledge for #WaveEnergy and expanding the international network of our reseachers.
We've been saying goodbye to our
@SchoolOfEng_UoE summer interns as the new teaching semester rolls around. Many thanks to Shaun Fraser, who worked hard on updating the content of our website, including examples picked from our portfolio of ORE projects. https://t.co/cyfKnQWRF0
The future leaders in the #offshoreengineering visited Mocean!
The DOT @tudelft students had lots of curiosities about #offshore renewable energy, and @FloWaveOcean switched on the "wacky wave" setting for testing survivability in our Blue Horizon #WEC.
Thanks @wavetankthomas!
You may have seen the "FloWave Spike" before, but did you know that the science behind it is contributing to knowledge on wave breaking in the ocean? Through studying these crossing seas we aim to understand implications for maritime safety. #WorldOceansDay
🌊 | New spike wave video
Researchers studying wave breaking have found that axisymmetric ‘spike waves’ can far exceed limits that were previously thought to dictate the maximum height of ocean waves.

@SchoolOfEng_UoE and our colleagues at @oxengsci and @UoMSciEng experimental recreations of rogue waves provide important information for many engineering challenges - lighthouses included! Find out more on @channel5_tv with @MrRobBell at 9pm tonight.
In a new three-part journey through Britain’s beautiful but treacherous coastline, presenter Rob Bell uncovers the secrets of one of Britain’s most heroic feats of engineering – the rock lighthouse. #lighthouses
FloWave and #FASTBLADE are again pleased to feature in the @heraldscotland review of Scotland's Renewable sector. Learn how the facilities work together within @SchoolOfEng_UoE to provide research solutions to the tidal energy sector.

How well do experimental assessments of wave energy converters at different test tanks compare? We were able to explore this through a unique 'round robin' programme under the @MaRINET2_EU project with our international partners @PlymUni@MaREIcentre@CentraleNantes@IHCantabria
🎉Congrats to the 7 successful #waveenergy projects selected for the 1st stage of the innovative Pre-Commercial Procurement programme!
They'll receive a budget of €2.4M to further develop their #wave#energy device concepts in the next 6months.
