Most indie developers localize their app like this:

🌍 Translate everything into 20 languages
🙏 Hope for downloads

I do the opposite.

Before updating metadata or screenshots, I use this prompt with TryAstro MCP:

"I have an app named NCLEX RN Mastery Prep (2026).

Find App Store markets with:
• keyword popularity > 20
• low competition
• strong nursing exam opportunities

For each market show:
• country
• keywords
• popularity
• difficulty
• localization priority"

The result?

Instead of guessing, I know exactly:

✅ Which countries to target first
✅ Which keywords users actually search for
✅ Which screenshots to localize
✅ Which metadata to optimize

Most developers localize based on language.

I localize based on search demand.

That's how I found opportunities in markets I never would have targeted manually 🚀

Stop translating first.

Research first.

I agree - the App Store is getting too crowded to just rely on ASO. You need a second channel like TikTok or ASA to increase download volume.

Even if you start ranking for low traffic keywords, you're going to need some more organic traffic to boost your rank.

YouTube, website, or X are necessary if you want to get more people to find your app.

Show how it works, show key features as benefits. Its starting to work for me, it can work for you too.
