Calling Pedri ineffective because he’s not tall, rapid or farming UCL G/A tells me you judge midfielders like wingers 😭 The guy’s entire value is controlling tempo, escaping pressure and making Spain/Barça function.

Didn’t know it was a crime not to include in the midfield of the best NT itw a 5’9” CM who was outrun by FB at CM Llorente & 34yo Koke, & whose only UCL goal contributions were vs Olympiakos/Slavia despite playing at Barça & not being especially impactful defensively either.

People really think high risk games are won by stacking runners 😭 Pedri is Spain’s best pressure controller and tempo setter. The moment composure matters, he’s indispensable.

Zubimendi/Gavi the most consistent runners & main backline helpers
Rodri the best positional dueler & passer

Pedri is especially useful in normal 4-3-3 (not the case) or vs beatable teams.
