Congratulations to my good friend and former colleague, @LeeMZeldin, on his bipartisan confirmation today as our nation’s @EPA Administrator! Lee has always been a fighter for what matters most, and now he’s bringing that same passion to protect our environment and ensure clean, safe drinking water for all Americans.
Lee is going to make protecting our environment and drinking water great again!
A year has passed since the attack on Israel, but the pain and loss remain fresh in our hearts. We remember those who perished and honor the courage of those who stood against terrorism. The bond between the United States and Israel is built on a foundation of shared values—values of freedom, democracy, and the right to exist in peace. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to that bond.
Receiving this letter from Dick McCormick following my meeting with @SUNYChancellor John King at @stonybrooku truly means a lot to me. It reaffirms why I work so hard to advocate for our community and the vital institutions that serve it. Stony Brook University plays an incredible role not just in our region, but across the state and beyond. I will always stand up for the resources and support it needs to continue being a world-class research university that defines excellence.
As your Assemblyman, I am committed to ensuring our flagship institutions have the tools and support to thrive. I look forward to working closely with leaders like Chancellor King and Mr. McCormick to make sure we keep pushing Stony Brook forward, as it sets the standard for education and research in New York.
I look forward to continuing our strong relationship and working together to ensure Stony Brook has the support it needs to thrive and lead.
The Suffolk County PBA is proud to endorse @Flood4Assembly for re-election in New York’s 4th Assembly District.
Throughout his time in office, Ed has consistently prioritized the needs of our police officers, fighting for critical funding and resources that empower them to effectively serve and protect our neighborhoods. His efforts to fight against legislation such as bail reform show that public safety is a priority in our communities. His commitment to law and order is evident in his actions and dedication to supporting those who put their lives on the line for us every day.
As we approach Election Day, let’s support a candidate who truly understands the importance of public safety. Vote for Ed Flood and ensure that a strong pro-law enforcement voice continues to represent us in Albany.

Hispanic Heritage Month, established as a month-long celebration by President Ronald Reagan in 1988, was designed to honor the profound contributions of Hispanic communities to the fabric of American society. Reagan recognized the importance of celebrating not only the cultural richness but also the shared values that Hispanic Americans bring to the nation. The celebration begins on September 15th, aligning with the independence days of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua—symbolizing freedom, resilience, and the pursuit of opportunity.
This month also gives us the opportunity to honor the hard work and dedication of Hispanic Americans who have come to this country with a dream and have contributed to every sector of society. Whether in agriculture, business, education, or the arts, Hispanic communities have strengthened our nation through their perseverance, family values, and unshakable belief in the American Dream.
As we reflect on this month, we celebrate the individuals who embody these values and thank them for their sacrifices, which continue to enrich our country. Their stories remind us of the enduring power of hard work, faith, and determination—values we must cherish and safeguard for future generations.

September 11th is a day that forever altered the course of history. It's a day that still weighs heavy on our hearts, not just because of what we lost, but because of what it revealed—the strength, the courage, and the resilience that lives within us all.
23 years later, the pain still lingers. The images are still vivid, the stories still raw. We remember the innocent lives taken too soon, the heroes who emerged in the chaos, and the way we came together as a nation in the face of overwhelming tragedy.
But this day is not just about looking back. It’s about carrying forward the lessons of that moment—about unity, sacrifice, and the power of standing together. We honor those we lost by living each day with the same strength and compassion that defined our response in the aftermath.
We will never forget.
I am proud to announce that I have received the endorsement from the Suffolk County Correction Officers Association. To say I am honored is an understatement. Thank you, for putting your trust in me to represent and advocate for a Safer & More Affordable New York!
It was a great day spent in Port Jefferson to increase PTSD awareness to the 22 veterans who take their life everyday. The 22 PTSD Awareness Challenge is a 22 mile cross-sound kayak event. It was a wonderful event with tons of great vendors and helpful local non-profit organizations.

Our state is facing serious challenges, and our region has recently been hit hard. The work we’re doing to make change isn’t easy, and some days it feels overwhelming. But no matter how tough it gets, I’m always grateful to come home to Cliff, who’s always there with unwavering support.
During National Dog Month, let’s take a moment to appreciate the joy our furry family members bring.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to join @GovKathyHochul , Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine, Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico, @nicklalota, Anthony Palumbo for State Senate, and a group of dedicated state and local officials on a tour of the storm-ravaged areas in our community. Together, we walked through the aftermath of the recent storm, engaging in important discussions on how to lead the recovery efforts. Our conversations revolved around the implementation of both state and federal assistance to provide support to homeowners, businesses, and the overall restoration of our local infrastructure and roads. It was a moment for all of us to come together, share insights, and devise strategies to aid our community in the rebuilding the areas affected by the storm.
I had a great time this past Sunday stopping down at the Greek Festival in Setauket. The energy was great the food was fantastic, I got to speak to many constituents, overall it was amazing!
Had an incredible time Thursday night at the Suffolk County GOP annual Lobsterfest! It was truly inspiring to witness union leaders, community members, committee people, and elected officials all gather together in one place. The energy in the room was electric, and it has just reinforced my commitment to campaigning even harder as we head into the home stretch of this election season. Huge shoutout to Chairman Garcia for hosting such a fantastic event - it was a night to remember! Let's keep the momentum going! 🎉 #SuffolkCountyGOP #Lobsterfest #CommunityUnity
I have requested Gov. Hochul to declare a state of emergency on the north shore of Brookhaven following the disaster that flooded Long Island this past week. Declaring a state of emergency would streamline and fast-track repair and recovery efforts, much of which are critically important in the early stages. Assemblyman Doug Smith, Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo, Assemblyman Joe DeStefano and Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio signed onto the letter to Hochul requesting assistance.
A significant rainfall of 10 inches severely impacted the north shore, leading to the destruction of essential roadways, blocking many Long Islanders’ access to their workplaces and residences or blocking them from leaving their residences. Upon recent assessments, the repair process could extend over several years, although many repair teams are actively engaged in restoration efforts. Local officials warned that additional damage may be uncovered as the infrastructure undergoes further evaluation.
I want to express my utmost appreciation for local volunteers, first responders, utility companies and officials who have shown resilience in the aftermath of the storm damages. Their work is recognized by many as they have worked endlessly throughout the community offering helping hands. We must continue working together to ensure affected areas receive the support they need to rebuild and protect against future storms. Gov. Hochul’s support would be extremely helpful and appreciated as we have a long road ahead.
Had a great time at the Suffolk County Police Department's 6th Precinct National Night Out event! It was wonderful to see the community come together for unity and safety. Kudos to the officers for fostering trust and building relationships with the community. Looking forward to more collaborations for a safer community! #NationalNightOut #CommunitySafety #SuffolkCountyPoliceDept6Precinct 🚔🎉
On National Airborne Day, we honor the 48 U.S. Army members who made the first parachute jump, a pivotal moment in military history during WWII.
