ICE lied to a Kansas mom tricking her into showing up for green card—it was a trap to detain her.

She was sent a letter of approval for a permanent residency interview—her husband became U.S. citizen in March.

"We were lied to, and our family has been torn apart," cried her daughter.

"My dad was asked to step out of the office where my mom was sitting. The second he did, she was detained by two immigration officers."

Rosmery Alvarado has lived in the U.S. for decades. When she was still a child, she failed to appear in court—but "we had all of our defenses, we had the evidence, we had everything, we were prepared," explained her daughter.

Every other member of her family is already a U.S. citizen. If her emergency stop deportation order is denied she will be deported within 3 days.

In December 2024, my student loan changed servicers and they applied a wrong (& higher interest rate). I had them correct it.

In January 2025, my student loan suddenly showed a default status for 6 months and $9-10k past due. I’ve never missed a student loan payment. Every statement from Dec 2024 and back was current.

I sent their own statements for all of those periods to the servicer showing I never missed a payment. No one did anything.

I emailed the CEO of the servicer 1.5 months ago and today — TODAY — from end of Feb 2025:
• I got an apology
• letter stating my student loan never actually had a missing payment, my interest was corrected (& monthly payment back to normal) and they accidentally changed my due dates when they did that
• letter stating they’ll notify each credit agency to reverse their reporting and fix their error.

If I hadn’t emailed the CEO & threaten reporting them to the CFPB, this would be ongoing.

And what if I had a major purchase to make between January and today where their error was impacting my credit?

How ridiculous. I should be compensated for this beyond “oops, sorry, we will fix our mistake now.”

This story from today is SHOCKING. The United States has disappeared a man. His last known whereabouts on March 15 was in the same place as others sent to El Salvador, but his name doesn't appear on the leaked list of people sent there.

He is, for all intents and purposes, gone.
