Since 1958, the Conch Tour Train has been a go-to way to explore Key West, winding through the narrow streets of Old Town.
The open-air train follows a set route past some of the island’s most notable landmarks, including Mallory Square, the Southernmost Point, and the Ernest Hemingway Home, with guides sharing stories along the way.
More than just a ride, it offers a structured look at Key West’s history, all without needing to navigate the island on your own. @America250FL
Sea turtle nesting season is already underway in Manatee County, with a few nests already spotted along our beaches. As we move into May, nesting activity will continue to ramp up, making it especially important to be mindful while enjoying the shoreline.
Residents and visitors can help protect nesting turtles and hatchlings by turning off or shielding lights at night, filling in any holes in the sand, knocking down sandcastles, removing all trash and beach gear, and staying clear of marked nests. Small actions like these make a big difference in keeping our beaches safe during this critical time.
Warmer temperatures mean it’s finally time to get out and enjoy the beach.
Come visit Cortez Beach (13th St S, Bradenton Beach, FL 34217) and take in the beauty of blooming Beach Sunflower, spot wildlife like the Brown Pelican, and spend the day fishing off the piers.
Whether you’re soaking up the sun, exploring nature, or making memories, it’s fun for the whole family!
