Again trying to explain the rest-pause method I use to reduce volume and time in the gym.
4 sets of lateral raises to failure in under 2 minutes here, going a little heavier for me, a skinny, old, long-limbed white boy.

@ngdpc1 I ended up here kind of by accident. Now I can't really picture leaving. Hope you make it work out!
This was the wild northern end of the dog beach on a horrible winter day...so cold I took my phone along. Had to wear a windbreaker and a fleece with my shorts and bare feet.
It's been a good year so far. Nice enough for you to set up a practice in NW suburban Tampa, a short drive from Clearwater Beach, the northernmost 2 miles of which are dog-friendly, and the last half mile of that is free of houses, basically wild.
Intense sun, hot and humid half the year, not so hot and humid the rest.
Skeeters year round, but they're p*ssiated compared to what I grew up with in Minnesconsin.
@MarkBski@johnwosborn@EdLatimore Meh. I forgot about it at the gym. T'was a reasonably good session anyway, although I skipped overhand curls bc of tweakage from yesterday's garden clipping activities.
@MarkBski@johnwosborn@EdLatimore Never done front squats either. Ain't squatted at all in many months. The extent of my leg work recently has been canine-accompanied barefoot beach lunges.
These simply look like a heck of an exercise, and would require coordination that I think I'd like to train. Vanity, aye.
@MarkBski@johnwosborn@EdLatimore I want to start doing these. Maybe today, at the end of my upper body session, even though I'll have already done a good deal of shoulder work.
Of course, it will be just the bar, to see how it feels and whether I can effect the form.
(I'm only 61 though.)
@SBakerMD I went low carb a decade ago and got lean, dropping about 35 lbs of fat. I decided to follow your crazy idea about 8 years ago and just never went back.
It's just simply automatic for me: eggs (and usually dairy) in the morning, steak or other beefstuffs with butter for supper.
@EdLatimore The discussion of PCP and your mention of it as a super dsoldier drug reminded me of the flick Jacob's Ladder. It was pretty heavy for me at the time on the big screen.
Have you seen it? I'd be curious to know what you make of it.
I guess I have no more recent video of my using it than this from 2023. I need to start doing them again.
I was doing them for general fitness, not necessarily strength or hypertrophy. I'm ok with being skinny at 61.
I'd be really curious to know what you think if you ever try it out. I'll never squat with just a bar again.

@Mangan150 Huh. I had no idea those drugs are peptides. I only think of peptides in the context of proteins or amino acids or whatever the deal is.
I guess I should educate myself, just so I know what people are talking about.
Still staying natty though, even if it means I stay scrawny.
@Mangan150 I'm quite behind the times, bc I don't know what peptides are in the context of PEDs. (Do I need to know? Probly not.)
I've settled into a routine of going every 4 - 2/3's days. I.e., every 5 or 4 days: no more often than every 4 days whilst avoiding weekends. Fri, Wed, Mon.
@HandyGingerGal Thanks, I shan't forget now, down here at 20 ft.
Did they teach metric and imperial when you were in school? They started teaching metric here when I was about 8, but then abandoned it after a year or two.
