I grew up in Mid Sussex, one of the safest Tory seats in the country. As recently as 2015 the Tories held EVERY SINGLE SEAT on the council. Anyway, the Lib Dems now have the most council seats in Mid Sussex, and Labour even has a councillor in Haywards Heath. Lots of interesting reasons why, but mind-blowing.

@richardosman I’d say some of it is down to the hard campaigning, leaflet delivery and door knocking to talk to voters that the relatively small group of mid Sussex volunteers did! Where I live I hear several times a year from my Lib Dem councillor - not just ignored until they want my vote
