@baronessnewlove said "Being a baby or a toddler was a lockdown risk factor in its own terms. Those who were exposed to other risk factors in addition could be considered as being subject to double jeopardy. " #BabyBlindSpot 5/5

Happy International Women’s Day! 👏👏👏 to all our members who campaign so hard for women and mothers. Supporting mothers is inextricably linked with offering a solid foundation for babies in the first 1001 critical days. #IWD2021
Anyone else feeling flat as a pancake today? I have been working towards next week for 2 months. I can work normal hours! The kids will have their friends!
But I’m going to miss them. And maybe the crazy fast treadmill has allowed me not to think about how much has been lost.
Thanks @NSPCCLearning for inviting our Head of Clinical Strategy and Development, Dr Karen Bateson to speak at #HowSafe2021 today on why parent-infant relationships are so important. In case you missed it, here’s a handy summary of the main points of her talk.

Today’s budget acknowledged the impact of the pandemic on businesses, but not on babies. The impact of the lockdown on some children’s early development is significant. Government must address this ongoing #babyblindspot & include babies & their families in the Covid recovery plan
We were disappointed that today's budget said nothing about the support babies & families need to recover from the pandemic & to thrive. Local budgets are squeezed and need is increasing. Without investment babies will miss out on the care they need to get the best start in life.
Why we should talking about Fathers and Perinatal mental Health.
Great news we hearing more awareness of Postnatal Depression in Dads - We must remember Anxiety is far higher in New Dads.
Antenatal/Postnatal Anxiety/PTSD / OCD has to be talked about too. #Howareyoudad
Some babies and toddlers have experienced additional stresses and risks during #COVID. Those experiences will cast a long shadow and local services will need to respond now and in the future. We cannot afford for #UKBudget2021 to be another #BabyBlindspot https://t.co/pVXLU6jS1r
EXCITING OPPORTUNITY for people with lived experience of using mental health services to undertake #peersupport training, the first step to becoming a paid #peersupport worker. Detailed information in the blog below, please share widely! https://t.co/azT8DAhmz2
