My pastor told my mother that divorcing my father would send her to hell.
So she stayed married to him for 26 years.
My father cheated on her, emptied her savings twice, and once left her stranded at a hospital because he had used the money she gave him for our medical bills to entertain another woman.
Whenever she complained, he reminded her that the Bible said a wife should submit to her husband.
Whenever she threatened to leave, our pastor reminded her that God hated divorce.
So she stayed.
She prayed for him. She forgave him. She kept the family together while slowly losing herself.
When I was 19, I found her sitting on the bathroom floor crying because she had secretly started saving money to leave, but she felt guilty for even considering it.
She asked me, “Am I a bad Christian because I want peace?”
I didn't know what to say.
Three years later, my father left her himself. He moved in with another woman and told the church elders that he had found someone who made him happy.
Guess what our pastor told my mother?
“God will heal your broken heart. You must forgive him.”
No one told my father he had destroyed a marriage. No one questioned his faith. Nobody threatened him with hell.
But when my mother finally refused to take him back, suddenly everyone had Bible verses for her.
Today, she is divorced, working again, laughing again, and sleeping peacefully for the first time in decades.
Last Sunday, someone told her she should pray for God to restore her marriage.
She smiled and said, “Which marriage? The one I begged God to save for 26 years, or the one he abandoned when he found another woman?”
Now tell me something.
If divorce is always a sin, why do people spend so much time condemning the person who finally leaves, but so little time confronting the person who made staying unbearable?
I’ve said this before. The average Ghanaian woman is WAYYYYYY more conservative than they let on.
They phase in and out of the baddie aesthetic as the occasion demands.
The conditioning of being worried by how people see them is deep asf and they’re good at hiding it.
One colleague and senior manager said I should forget about getting married. So long as I’m almost 40 and not married, insatiability will be the death of any marriage ..
I should just find a woman who doesn’t also want marriage and have kids with 😂😂. Why
Tagging his workplace, doxxed his family members, doxxed his friends off a risky message with a man you yourself admitted you flirted with in real life. Was the message he sent weird ? Yes! You admitted yourself he apologized to you 3 good times so why are you tagging his workplace
I picked that lesson from Raymond Reddington.
" everyday when you wake up, it'd be the first thing on your mind until one day , it'd be the last thing"
You'll be fine.

In his suicide note, dated September 30, 2026, he revealed that he had been silently struggling with addiction, depression, guilt and financial pressures despite appearing happy. He said his first attempt to share his struggles was dismissed as a joke and that none of his friends believed he was struggling, adding that he had contemplated ending his life since around 2023. He apologised to his family and loved ones and urged people to listen without judgment, support those suffering in silence, and prioritise counselling and mental health awareness.
