@yoentrelinguas Learning that there's always more to discover is a lesson in itself!
Today, I received a lesson in gratitude, reminding me not to take the simple things in life for granted.
Hit a roadblock learning your target language?
Remind yourself why you started your journey.
- Personal growth?
- Follow an interest?
- Chat with your family?
- Boost your confidence?
- Open up career opportunities?
- Connect with different cultures?
Savor it.

1/ Why do some language learners thrive more effortlessly?
It's not just about the methods they use, but something deeper – their internal drive.
👇Here's how intrinsic motivation fuels a fulfilling language learning journey and leads to the 'flow' state.

@rikuthesage Sure, technically it is 15 minutes.
Slowing it down to understand and learn better actually makes it a 30 minute immersive learning session. If time is limited, just do half the video.
It's the quality and focus of the time you spend that counts more than the clock time.
On your language learning journey and feeling lost in a sea of resources?
Keep it simple.
Let's debunk the myth of the 'perfect' method and explore why curiosity is your best strategy. 🧵

@LanguagePat It really varies! Textbooks designed for classrooms can offer structure for self-study, but some exercises may not fit perfectly.
The learner needs a bit of creativity to adapt them.
With the right approach and self-discipline, these resources can be super valuable.
Sustainable happiness isn't just a mood, it's a mindset. 🌱
In your language journey, it means finding joy in small victories and the process, rather than only focusing the end goal.
@lindiebee Totally! It's a huge pet peeve of mine when people assume language learning is immediate.
They don't realize the dedication, time, and effort it takes to become fluent.
It's a process filled with ups and downs, and that's normal.
And it's also ok to learn casually. You do you!
Give yourself permission to take it slow with your language learning. 🐢
No need to rush.
Every word you learn is progress, and that's awesome.
Be kind to yourself!

Some compare cooking to simply assembling ingredients.
Would they similarly compare language learning to just piecing together words?
Mastery in both cooking and language comes from depth.
Understanding the flavors of culture, grammar, and vocabulary.

@FluentFlourish I think the big thing for me is connection. When the language starts to get tough, I look for ways to connect with something or someone in the language. Whether it’s reading a book I’m really into or building a friendship with someone in the language.
What I've learned so far:
Language success isn't just about the amount of words.
You succeed by
- connecting with songs
- getting the gist without subtitles
- nailing daily interactions
Every small win is a giant step in feeling at home.
@eurolinguistesk That's amazing, 17 languages?!
I'm curious about your resilience in this journey. How do you bounce back when a language gets really tough? And what keeps you motivated when progress feels slow?
@SantPolyglot Totally! Often, we start speaking a shared language in a group to make sure everyone understands.
But interestingly, even when someone who doesn't speak the native language of the rest leaves, we sometimes keep using the shared language instead of switching back to our own. 🤷
