@KateMcGonigall Yeah, stuff always gets in the way for me, too. Your goals sound like the right amount for each language. Zero pressure, zero condemnation is the way to go!
@KateMcGonigall If I have time and energy, I study. If not, I don’t. It sounds awful, I know. But since I’m more advanced now, I can see progress more easily. I finally accepted I might or might not become fluent in this lifetime. Such a relief!
What are your goals for your languages this year?
@KateMcGonigall I hear you with the time issue. Same thing here. My goals for this year are to focus on Welsh as much as I can (whatever that means). I’m tired of creating perfect plans and goals and not meeting any of them and then feel frustrated. So this year I’m just going with the flow… 1/
I guess a new 2026 #langtwt intro is in order:
📍Spaniard in Mexico
👩💻Textbook writer, translator, salsa teacher
🌳 Fluent: 🇪🇸🇲🇽/🇺🇸
🪴 Active focus: 🏴
🌿 Passive focus: 🇧🇷
🌵 Dusting off in the future: 🇩🇪
🍂 Wishful thinking: 🇳🇱🇭🇺
Come say hola, hi, s’mae, olá! 👋
@KateMcGonigall Hi Kate! 👋 My Welsh is great, actually. My 2-month immersion trip to Wales last summer worked wonders… and I’m hoping to start the B2 course in Feb next year. 🥳🤞
Did you start Portuguese this year? What’s your goal with it? How do you feel about Hebrew and French? 🤗
@MaisysLangs ¡Qué genial! Muchas felicidades.
A mí me pasó algo parecido con el podcast de galés Yr Hen Iaith, aunque no llego al 80% todavía ni de lejos.
@MaisysLangs As far as I know, the Welsh Duolingo course, which stopped being updated last year (maybe the year before), was fully developed by volunteers. Some of these volunteers are part of Welsh learner Facebook groups and have shared this information in the groups.
@MattLearnsLingo I’m in awe of you and your language progress (and language list!). I still remember when I opened this account only a little over 2 years ago and you were still studying… Spanish (ehem 👀) and I think you were just starting Dutch. Very inspirational and admirable. 👌🙌
