The confidence with which Tim Stanley declares it’s “very obviously migrants rioting” in France.
Has he personally checked their passports and immigration status?
Or has he simply looked at their skin colour and assumed they couldn’t possibly be French because they’re not all white?
If people want to understand the objections to Elon Musk, look at what he chooses to do with his enormous resources.
Today, he has reportedly spent another £200,000 on the legal costs of Tommy Robinson, a far-right, drug-addicted thug with a long criminal record.
Robinson was convicted in 2005 of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assaulting an off-duty police officer, receiving a 12-month sentence. In 2011, he was convicted of assault after headbutting a man and received a 12-week suspended sentence. That same year, he was convicted of threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour after a football-related brawl and received a community rehabilitation order.
In 2013, he was jailed for 10 months after using somebody else’s passport to enter the United States. In 2014, he received 18 months for mortgage fraud. In 2019, he was jailed for contempt of court after interfering with proceedings in a grooming-gang trial. And in 2024, he received another 18 months for deliberately breaching a court injunction by repeating false allegations about a Syrian schoolboy.
Now, in 2026, he is back in court facing two charges of harassment causing fear of violence against journalists. He denies the charges.
Rather than using that money to help the hungry, the homeless, the sick, Elon Musk is choosing to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds helping fund his legal battles.
Can someone who supports Musk genuinely explain the moral justification for this?
OFFICIAL STATEMENT. When I recently posted ‘DO NOT pull apart the upcoming 8-page Reform newspaper going out to 15m homes across the country so it’s in individual sheets, before sending them to Reform’s freepost address one at a time. If enough people do this it would cost them a fortune, which is very bad and unfair,’ I was making a satirical point and was absolutely not endorsing actually doing so, as per this example that has appeared under my post.
DO NOT. NOT.
If you try to "Deport" British born UK citizens, we won't go quietly and people (including white Brits) will fight you.
So anyone backing Restore Britain, you are inciting violence on UK streets.
(And as we've seen from the ITV documentary, that includes Reform.)
Nigel Farage’s excuses for his £5m ‘gift’ from an overseas crypto-billionaire never stacked up. Now his senior aides have been caught admitting it privately.
Reform are up to their neck in sleaze and scandal. It’s time for Farage to fess up about what the money is actually for.
This is a big deal - The first time England has had a severe drought in modern history - 100 years. It’s another aspect of the failure of water privatisation - private companies, mostly foreign owned and based, are not capable of providing the water service (and sewage) that we need, that’s abundantly clear.
We need a change of approach.
Thatcher was wrong, the private sector does not do it best in all cases - defo not in a monopoly on a vital national service.
Time to take back control of our water. Not ownership necessarily (unless they fail) - just control.

My take on the French protests? That a lot of people really don’t understand the French.
They have self respect. The working classes in Britain need to remember what that is.
Noone will ever be able to convince me that the priority of the government at that time wasn't working out how to loot the till that they had the keys of in a way that they wouldn't go to prison for.
If I was Prime Minister , if I was Burnham , watching European cities ablaze . . . I’d instigate a ‘wealth tax’ at about 9.01am tomorrow morning . Just saying . Or should we just ‘eat cake’ ?
