Turns out that @LeaderJohnThune was totally projecting when he said the SAVE Act was an influencer campaign.
Senator John Thune is compromised by a company that literally exists to sell access to himself.
Pass it on.
Over the last few days, I’ve been thinking a lot about how deeply people responded to honoring Alan this Memorial Day. Millions of people saw his name. Thousands took the time to say it out loud, visit him, leave flowers, share photos, and remind our family that he is not forgotten.
It’s had me wondering whether moments like that could become something lasting for other Gold Star families too.
One idea I keep coming back to is starting the SSG Alan Shaw Foundation and creating something called Legacy Flights. The goal would be simple: helping families of the fallen visit their heroes on important days like Memorial Day, birthdays, angelversaries, and other moments that matter.
When I lost Alan at 26, I was surviving. At 46, I’m finally in a place where I feel like I could build something meaningful. Something rooted in remembrance, family, and legacy. Something that outlives me.
I don’t know exactly what this becomes yet, but I can’t shake the feeling that something even better is going to come from all of this. 🙏♥️
The wicked plots against the righteous
and gnashes his teeth at him,
but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he sees that his day is coming.
The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows
to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose way is upright;
their sword shall enter their own heart,
and their bows shall be broken.
Psalm 37:12-15
God’s justice is certain.
Last night, I made a simple request on X. I asked if anybody visiting Arlington National Cemetery for Memorial Day would stop by Alan’s grave and leave a photo for our family.
What happened next honestly caught me off guard.
By this afternoon, dozens of Americans from all walks of life had made the walk to Section 60 to visit SSG Alan W. Shaw. Veterans. Families. Complete strangers. People who had never met Alan, but chose to honor him anyway.
For one day on social media, people put aside the constant noise and negativity and came together for something bigger than themselves. My notifications filled with photos, kind messages, prayers, and stories from people honoring not just Alan, but so many of our fallen heroes.
I don’t think people fully understand what moments like this mean to Gold Star families. The fear is never just losing them. It’s losing them slowly over time as the world moves on and fewer people remember their name.
But today showed me that Alan will never be forgotten.
After years of watching social media reward some of the worst parts of humanity, today gave me a reminder that the good is still out there too.
Thank you to every single person who stopped by to visit Alan today, said his name, shared his story, or took a moment to honor the fallen.
This right here is the America Alan knew and loved enough to fight and die for.
And today, y’all showed us all that it’s still here and it’s still worth fighting for. 🇺🇸
🚨 POWERFUL MOMENT: Marine Corps legend Joey Jones just RE-ENLISTED, and the Department of War showed up BIG!
SECWAR at the podium honoring an absolute American hero:
“We have the pleasure of honoring an incredible American today… and have the opportunity to re-enlist him in the Marine Corps.”
Yesterday on the National Mall at Rededicate 250, I reflected on the generations of Americans who built and preserved this nation through faith, courage, sacrifice, and perseverance.
Our Founders declared a revolutionary truth 250 years ago: our rights come from God, not government.
The American Dream is real because America remains a place where faith and freedom can turn impossibility into reality. 🇺🇸

🚨 JUST IN: Tim Burchett with the HILARIOUS RESPONSE after Bernie Sanders opposed the SAVE America Act by saying, "I don't know how to get my birth certificate!"
"If you don't know the Google search, Bernie, that's G double O G L E. If you'll click it and then type in, after you get it up at the top, 'how to get a birth certificate in New York.'" 🤣
"And guess what? It popped right up!"
"The vital records department. And then you just scroll down and it says birth certificate, oddly enough. Crazy talk."
"And then I clicked on that and it went through what you need to do. And then you can even use your credit card, which I'm sure you as a capitalist will have a credit card."
"Or if you don't, I'm sure one of your many staffers will have that. And all you got to do is fill it out. And dadgum, guess what? They'll mail it to you, Bernie. It's crazy talk."
"Or they can, I think they can even send one to you online. I mean, it's just incredible. I was perplexed on this whole issue that we were causing great consternation on you."
"So I would encourage you to do that, Bernie. If you don't know how to do that, ask one of your many staffers and I'm sure they will assist you."
"It's a very simple process, Senator. And there's no reason that you don't get in line with about 85% of your constituents that think you, in fact, should be an American citizen to vote and show proof of that with a birth certificate!"

Lt. Col. Marilyn Wills was in a Pentagon conference room when American Airlines Flight 77 struck.
The fireball threw her across the table. Her hair caught fire. The room went black with smoke.
Crawling, she felt a hand grab her belt.
"My name is Lois," a voice said. Lois Stevens, a civilian employee, injured and choking.
"Stay with me. Where I go, you go."
Wills pressed her Army sweater into Lois's hands. "Breathe through this." When Lois collapsed, her nylons melted to her legs, Wills lifted her onto her back and carried her.
Six others followed the sound of her voice through the wreckage.
They reached a sealed second-floor window. They broke it. Cool air rushed in. Wills stayed inside.
"I'll go last," she said, and helped lower every person out before she fell into rescuers' arms below.
Lois Stevens lived 23 more years because of that decision.
Wills received the Soldier's Medal and Purple Heart for her burns, smoke inhalation, and traumatic brain injury. Thirteen days later, she returned to the Pentagon. She later deployed to Afghanistan.
She never called herself a hero.
"We lost so many that day," she said quietly. "They were my friends."
Some leaders give orders. Others carry people through the fire.
God bless Lt. Col. Marilyn Wills — and all who served on 9/11.
Three Florida teenagers turned a simple act of kindness into a life-saving response after stopping to help a man change a tire outside a McDonald’s.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Cooper City High School students Brody Murray, Cody Magrone and Logan Royer noticed 65-year-old Diego Fernandez Delgado struggling with a flat tire and decided to help.
But while changing the tire, the teens quickly realized something was wrong.
They said Delgado appeared pale, exhausted and was struggling to breathe before telling them he needed an ambulance.
The students immediately called 911. Deputies and firefighter-paramedics responded to the scene, where Delgado was later diagnosed with a heart attack.
“Without a doubt, these young men made an impactful difference… and probably did save his life,” a responder said in video released by authorities.
“Helping people doesn’t cost anything,” one of the teens added.
An incredible moment for our country—Rededicate 250: a National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise, and Thanksgiving on the National Mall on May 17. Let’s fill it up! America needs prayer!

Texas schools can now require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public school classrooms, following a recent federal appeals court ruling.
Some will call this controversial. I call it a reminder.
The Ten Commandments are not just religious words on a wall. They reflect moral truths that helped shape law, order, conscience, and accountability.
Our children need more than information. They need formation. They need truth, wisdom, and a moral foundation strong enough to carry them through a confused world.
Faith does not weaken education. It gives it a conscience.
This New York Times "article" about Israel is such a journalistic atrocity that I actually feel stupid reading it out loud.
If everyone at the NYT who is responsible for this is not fired, then the publication will lose whatever shred of credibility it has left.
