My mom sent me this photo yesterday. It's my 67-year old father playing @MSFSofficial on @Xbox. He's never had any interest in video games before, but he got so excited by the trailers for MSFS that he bought a Series X solely for this. I love seeing new people join our hobby!

Earlier this month in May, to celebrate the launch of World Update 21: Australia, the Microsoft Flight Simulator team hosted a special event alongside the NSW Rural Fire Service in Sydney. 🔥🧑‍🚒

Guests got hands-on with aerial firefighting experiences in #MSFS2024 while hearing from RFS tactical leaders about the real-world role simulation can play in pilot preparation and emergency response.

Huge thanks to @nextlvlracing and @TMThrustmaster for providing an incredible sim setup. The NSW RFS team had an absolute blast trying the sim out!

@KahliefAdams Without any spoilers, the gameplay loop is that you're an astronaut stranded on an aquatic planet from which you're trying to escape. You have to collect materials to build tools, vehicles, and items. You're forced to go to deeper and darker and more scary places to progress.

@FlukeLSX @sjvn Having to make a custom boot disk as a teen so I could play Aces Over Europe is why I first learned how computers work. Then I went to college and completed a CS degree and had a 20+ year career in corporate IT. Everything has come full-circle as I now work in flight sims.
