The Trump Administration under former Homeland Security Dept. Secretary Kristi Noem disbanded the TSA Aviation Security Advisory Committee. This needs to be reconstituted with at least one member that truly represents passengers, not just corporate interests, labor unions and government agencies. Weak or incompetent security primarily puts passengers at risk, while unnecessary, overly intrusive or arbitrary TSA measures can both annoy passengers and waste funding.

To fill the shortage of 2,000+ air traffic controllers, FAA has enrolled 3,000+ trainees. But with an 80% washout rate and 3-5 years to become fully qualified does not solve the problem. FlyersRights suggestions for transfers with higher pay, age changes for training and retirement, work visas for already qualified controllers to NYC, DCA and Chicago could provide timely relief, improve safety and reduce delays.

US currently lacks testing facilities. During last Ebola outbreak a complete ban resulted in some infected coming into US thru Canada.

CDC has banned non US travelers from Uganda, Democratic Republic of the Congo and S Sudan from entering the US for 30 days due to an outbreak of Ebola, a highly infectious disease with a 25-50% death rate. Any US citizens would be admitted but may have to be quarantined for up to 30 days.
