Please don't dump Halloween pumpkins in the countryside, or leave them to rot in your garden. Eating pumpkins can make hedgehogs, birds & other animals ill – so dispose of pumpkins in a compost bin or council food waste bin, or bury under 20cm soil.

Thanks to everyone that came along to our Autumn Clean Up today. Around 20 volunteers made brilliant progress litter picking, tidying the flowerbeds and bowling green perimeter and building a fantastic bug hotel 🐞🪲🌳🪴☀️

The Friends of Shelf Hall Park asked the council for some new benches and they have now been installed. Thank you @Calderdale . One is to break the long walk down the tarmac drive the other so you can enjoy the new bee friendly garden. Enjoy! #parks #shelf #communityspaces

Great to get back out there and meeting up with friends after a long winter. We planted more bulbs for next year, collected litter, trimmed the yew tree in the hopes it's soon looking healthier 🙂 #parks #volunteering #community #gardening #calderdale

FofSHP volunteers will be back working in the park on Saturday 15 April morning. Jobs include, litter picking, planting bulbs, tidying the flower beds, you don't have to be an expert just enthusiastic.
